2.2.1 Safeguarding / Every Child Matters and subsequent policies
Welcome to chapter 2 of the 'Policies, pastoral care and practical applications' module. As anybody who has ever worked with young people or vulnerable people knows, safeguarding is a critical component of practice and feeds into the duty of care that you have as a teacher towards your learners. This chapter will outline exactly what is meant by Safeguarding and will discuss the policies which have been implemented, and are currently in place, in order to ensure that Safeguarding standards are met.
