5.5 Quality Assurance Processes
Welcome to chapter 5 of the 'Best practice in teaching' module. In this chapter, we'll be discussing Quality Assurance processes in their various forms; in order to do this as clearly as possible, we have split this into 3 subsections dealing with different varieties of QA. These will address Ofsted, Internal/External verification and the relatively new 'Progress 8' scheme.
Goals for this section
To understand the different forms of Quality Assurance and the reasons why such processes are implemented.
Objectives for this section
To be able to describe different forms of Quality Assurance.
To articulate the reasons why Quality Assurance processes are implemented and identify the benefits for learners, teachers and institutions.
To critically analyse different Quality Assurance processes and be able to identify any potential limitations of each process which may impede its goals.
