The Middle East has always been on the spot light either on the local and international news sources for its constant conflicts that have been unable to end even after a lot of intervention from the local and international leaders who aim at restoring peace in this region. A larger section of the Middle East is major composed with a population that is Arabic, but that doesn’t mean that all the nations in the middle east are Arabs but there are some small ethnic groups like the Jews, Kurds, Greeks, Assyrians, Mandeans and Armenians that are ins some nations like Iran, Israel, Turkey amongst other non- Arabic nations.

The conflict that is being experienced in the middle east is not a thing that is recent it has been in existence since the 1980s and it is still being encountered in the world today, this is because the former and current super powers are involved in this conflict in order to fulfill there self interests (Hersh, 2010). The conflict is resulted when the discovery of Oil was noted in middle east and the oil is the main source of energy that is the backbone of western economies, therefore countries like Britain, united states of America, Russia, Germany, France amongst other western countries in attempt to compromise and control the flow of oil into the international market (Shah, 2011). This indicates the selfish nature of the western countries to benefit from the natural commodity of the Middle Eastern countries; this can be traced pre-colonial era when the European countries controlled all the economical and political activities of these countries.

As I had said earlier in the paper the countries that are in the Middle East have different religions and ethnical practices, this is what is seen as the greatest setback that influences that has made it difficult for this region to have the peace. On the other hand the countries which aren’t practicing Islam as there core religion are rising up against each other. An example of these countries is the conflict of Israel and Turkey a conflict that is growing as days go by and at the same time this conflict further stalls the previous efforts aimed at restoring peace in the region that is constantly facing violent attacks (Shah, 2011).

The history of the relationship between these two countries

Turkey and Israel has in the past enjoyed a peaceful relationship, that aimed at restoring peace amongst these two countries and also through out the whole of Middle East, the great friendship between these two nations can be traced from way back in 1949, this is when Turkey recognized Israel as an independent nation, making it the first nation that with Islamic majority to recognize it as a nation. This good relation between these nations encouraged trade between these two nations as Israel became the major supplier of weapons to Turkey. Hence, it provided a strong base for the governments to indulge in strategic, management, diplomatic and military cooperation and the government indulged in this in order to ensure that the cases of instability and conflict in the middle east are minimum (Kibaroglu, 2009). This is when Turkey played as a mediator in most of the conflicts that involved Israel and other Islamic nations in the Middle East with the latest case of the mediation that Turkey mediated being between Syria and Israel and this was a way in which these two countries were able to maintain there strong relationship.

The conflict between Israel and Turkey

The tension between these two nations that is Turkey and Israel can be dated in the year 2010 from the attack on the Turkish boats by Israel soldiers as these boats were trying to ferry illegal Turkish immigrants into Israel. The Turkish government was seen by the Israeli government as a stumbling stone in solving the conflict that was between Israel and Palestine in matters regarding to Gaza strip, this was when the government of Turkey decided to develop a cold stand on the activities of Israel in the Palestine- Israel war. Therefore, this definitely made the Israeli government feel that the friendship that existed between the two country is long gone and Turkey was taking sides with the rival Arabic countries that were its main enemies this resulted to the Israeli government to expose there feelings to the Turkish nation and ensure that it is high time they declared there stand on the Israel – Palestine war (Hersh, 2010).

The conflict that resulted to the breaking of the communication between the two nations Turkey and Israel is the sinking of the Turkish boat that was seen in the coast of Israel by the Israeli soldiers (Sadoun, 2010). Which, the Israeli government claimed that the boat contained terrorists that were being ferried by the Turkish government into Israel as a way of turkey showing its unhappy nature with the way in which Israel soldiers reacted in the Gaza strip war which claimed the lives of 1300 Palestinians, 13 Israeli and 10 soldiers that were all killed in the conflict between the Israeli and Palestine soldiers in the struggle for the Gaza strip.

The conflict between Turkey and Israel was as a result of the close alighted that existed between the two countries was because of the close relationship between these two countries it should be noted that these countries were from different ethnical groups in that Israel were Jews while Turkey was a country the had Arabs (Hersh, 2010). These affected the relationship between these two countries because the Middle East is mostly occupied and surrounded with a lot of Arab speaking nations, and this was a great challenge for Turkey which is an Arabic nation and its long association with Israel made it develop enemies amongst these nations in the middle east who think that Turkey is betraying them and doesn’t support the interests of the Arab nations but only wants to fulfill its own interests this made Turkey to cut down its relationship with Israel in order to fit in the demands of the nations in the Middle East.

The war of words between these two countries is also seen as a result of the conflict of the countries. This is where the political leaders of these countries are seen insulting each other in public and annual general meetings on the maters that pertain to the for the causes of Israeli attacking the Gaza strip thus creating a lot of alignments that is now being experienced in the Middle East region.

Hence, the Turkish president Erdogan is heard loosing his tempers during an united nation meeting on the matters pertaining to the Gaza strip attacks this is when President Erdogan told the Israeli president “When it comes to killing, you know killing very well. I know how you hit, kill children on the beaches”(Cable News Network, 2011). This was one way in which the Turkish government will show the Israeli nation that they aren’t pleased with the way it has conducted its military activities in the Middle East this is because it affects the relations of the countries that are neighboring it and at the same time, this is especially from the attacks of the turkey ship killing 10 Turkey civilians and 1300 Palestine civilians in the Gaza strip war.

Possible Solutions of the conflict between Israel and Turkey

The conflict between the Israeli and Turkish countries is the most recent conflict to be encountered in the middle east, this is because it can be dated to the year 2010 the month May this is because the Israeli soldiers were involved in the attack of a Turkish boat in the Israel coast shores, the boat contained innocent Turkish civilians who were illegally moving to Israel to search for a better future (Hersh, 2010). They were killed by the Israeli solders and the Israeli government stated that they were terrorists that were sponsored or sent by the Turkish government to come and stall each and every sections of the Israeli nation, this claims were negatively taken by the Turkish government which insisted that these were innocent Turkish civilians who were not involved in any terrorist activities as is claimed by the Israeli officials.

There are a lot of speculations that are spread through the electronic and print media on the problems between these two countries stating that these two countries can’t be at peace with each other again this is because of the animosity that exists between these two countries (Cable News Network, 2011). However, I have a set of solution that I think will aim at restoring peace between these two countries, the first proposed solution for this conflict between the Turkey and Israel will be realized when the Israeli tone down its stand on the people who were in the boat that was sunk in there coastal shores. According to (Sadoun, 2010) they were not terrorists but were civilians and thus it would do there families a great favor and this favor would be by compensating the families of the deceased, this will to some point boost the relationship between these countries thus making these two countries develop trust in each other once again.

The other solution for the conflict between these countries would be realized if these countries political leaders stop attacking each other verbally in public and international congregational meetings (Kibaroglu, 2009). These verbal attacks will, not only make the country that insults the other more greater but it will also result to increased hatred between these countries and this will alternately result to military attacks that will be as a the hatred that is slowly building up between the countries, thus these leaders should be In a position of indulging in closed door negotiations that will aim at improving the relations between these two countries and this will help a lot in achieving peace amongst these countries.

The other way of resorting peace between these countries is by the formation of as middle east union this is where all the countries in the middle east will stage there demands to the union and from the union. This will help the organization in this region to understand each others interests and they will strive at fulfilling these demands and each country in this region that fails to heed to the demands of the union will be heavily fined and thus in reduce the rates lack of respect between these countries (Hersh, 2010). Thus, solving the whole problem of instability that is being experienced in the Middle East at the moment and solve it completely.
