Fahrenheit 451 is written by Ray Bradbury, the genre of this book is science fiction and it is written in the third person point of view. I selected this book because of the title and the cover picture and the description about fireman in the near future that don’t fight fires they start fires.

Fahrenheit 451 takes place in the near future the year is 2026. Imagine that you are in the living room of Guy Montag’s futuristic house and the firehouse where he worked; this is where the majority of the story takes place. In Guy Montag’s neighborhood all the houses are identical they are all painted white. Guy Montag owns a three story house that is located in a large city in the suburbs. It was amazing to learn that these people spend most of their time watching their huge size wall televisions because they did not engage in any outside activities, and because of the society they lived in they did not read books. The firehouse is numbered 451, where the fireman spends a majority of their time like the modern day fireman.

The central theme is about how the people in this society valued life through the improper use of their wall televisions and the mistreatment of books. The author tried to communicate the importance of reading and the value of books. Growing up my brother and I were read to everyday, after we passed first grade we had to pick a book and read for fifteen minutes a day, from fourth grade on we had to read thirty minutes a day and we also had to keep a reading log that included a paragraph about what we read. We were always taught “Read to Achieve.”

The setting of the firehouse affected the behavior of Guy Montag by making him feel confused about being a fireman because of the previous incident that occurred with the woman and her books. The setting also created a very creepy futuristic dark and gloomy mood.

Fahrenheit 451 was a very suspenseful, passionate, and an excellent book to read. While reading this book I was inspired, and I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in science fiction. The book takes you into a different society where fireman burn books and houses where in today society fireman save lives and houses is

This book left me with a different impression about science fiction and I would be interested in reading more of Ray Bradbury’s books. Fahrenheit 451 is one of those books that when you start reading you don’t want to put it down especially if you like reading about the future.

It is one of Ray Bradbury’s most famous books and it takes you on a roller coaster ride. Bradbury is so precise and descriptive in one part of the book when Montag is trying to get the woman out of the house before it burns but she refuses, I felt like I was in the house with him.

Fahrenheit 451 will capture the hearts of science fiction fans but anyone who likes to read will enjoy a very well written book. Fahrenheit 451 originally written in 1953, then came out again in 2003 with a new introduction from Ray Bradbury the book has sold more than five million copies! The book was originally based on a short story called “The Fireman,” this book appeared in Galaxy Science Fiction magazine, although Fahrenheit 451 is a larger novel and more detailed than “The Fireman.” Ray Bradbury is best known for this science fiction novels and Fahrenheit 451 as I stated before is hi number one best seller.
