Losses are kept down by not manufacturing at all, as any manufacture wouldn?t generate returns significant enough to balance any fixed cost and part of the variable cost. By not manufacturing at all, the company loses only its fixed cost. By losing the fixed cost the firm faces a problem. so it has a choice to exit the market or remain in the market and have risk of complete loss.
