Biggest Social Problem In Uae Sociology Essay

The social issues are defined as those issues or problems that are existing in the society that may prove detrimental to the society in existing as well as long run. Social problem is regarded as that problem which is undesirable. In every society negative and positive aspects exist. These issues can be resolved by strict enforcement of rules and regulations and also with the aid of proper education. In the present day and age, many social vices are rampant in UAE. These include smoking, excessive usage of alcohol, prostitution and clubbing. The interviews were conducted of 2 males and 2 females in order to obtain an accurate assessment of the social issues and to find their respective solutions.

Introduction

Social problem is stated as that people in community view as being undesirable. Everyone may agree about few social issues, like traffic problem. Social problems are also called social issues, a group may encounter various social problem. Every generation has his own socialproblems with respect to their age differences (wiseGEEK, 2013). Young boys and young girl may face different social issue as compare to their parent’s age. Everyone is always in try to remove the social issues with their true efforts, and only educated society resolves their social issues no matter . Educated society took every social issue as a common social issue and by showing this unity, they always stands victorious by resolving society’s problem (Zain, 2011). UAE generation social issues are alcoholism,bad nutrition, prostitution, smoking,and clubbing. Most the girls are getting divorce by these above un-ethical activities happenings in UAE. Health issues are also becoming chronic for the upcoming generation day by day. To avoid all these social problem UAE should apply thorough plan withstrict law enforcement.

I have taken 4 interviews from 2 males and 2 females in UAE. My motive was to address the UAE’s generation’s social problem. From interview I came to know many socialissues which should be address to improve the society living in UAE. Details of all interviews are discussed below. Interviews were taken from different age groups of UAE so that we can the actual shape of all generation’s problems.

Ist Interview

First interview has taken of Miss Sammiya Sheikh. She is 22 year un-married girl who lives in Ajman. She has completed her studies from states. She is working as Finance Manager in Multinational cosmetic company .She was very straight forward during the interview. She has answered all the question by her life experience, while living in UAE. She told me her personal life’s social problems. Following questions are put in front of her.

Q) What is your view of biggest social problem in UAE?

A) Currently I am too much annoying by lack of parking in UAE. Whenever I went outside for shopping or some work, I don’t even find a single open parking. Thereare too much problems occurring in parking areas due to huge number of traffic.Majority of peoples are suffering from these issues.

Q) What do you think about the social problems in generations?

A) Smoking and drinking are the social problems in generations which are infact spoiling them. It should be prohibited and very strict law should implement to avoid this unethical activities.

Q) What is your occupation & economic standing?

A) I am Finance manager in Multi National cosmetic firm. I find myself lucky to have good job in very good company. I will say that economy is rising due to new and young blood in UAE market. They will definitely emerge the economic standards of UAE by implementing new techniques No doubt about it, I am feeling myself too much secure here. I can say that UAE Is the safest place for girls in this Universe. Laws are very strict here about girls. When country’s people feeling secure that they will definitely play a vital role for its economy.

Q) Are you satisfy with current Health system?

A) Not much, as I think that medication is very much costly here.An ordinary man can’t afford these medications. It should be cheap and doctors should be 100% trained. Few hospitals are very good here but I want that every citizen of UAE should get 100% good medication in very cheap rate. I wish that government shouldn’t compromise on health policies.

Q) How the social problem should be deal?

A) To maintain a good society, social issues should be address strictly. Proper law should be introduced to overcome these issues.

2nd Interview.

Miss Fatima Bint-e-Zia gave me the interview about generation social problems. She is 35 year married woman and a house wife. She is a doctor and left her professional career just because proper teaching of her children. She served 6 year as a professional doctor. We have asked few questions to her.

Q) What is your view of biggest social problem in UAE?

A) Education system isn’t good here. I believe there should be international standard education to every human in this country with any differences. It should be compulsory for everyone. By giving education to everyone, we are making educated societies.Everyone will care for everyone and we will make state of art society.

Q) What do you think about the social problems in generations?

A) Environment isn’t good outside due to prostitutes. That’s why young girls are getting divorced. Married girls aren’t feeling themselves secure here now. But past generations didn’t face these issues.

Q) What is your occupation & economic standing?

A) Things are getting tough day by day. My occupation was a doctor. I left my profession due to personal reasons. Economy is standing down. Our economist should think wisely. World is going faster now. We should move faster by making good relations from all other countries.

Q) Are you satisfy with current Health system?

A) Yes I am.No doubt about it, I am from health sector, I know its good, we have International standard hospitals.

Q) How the social problem should be deal?

A) We should hire consultants to remove society issues of every generation.

3rd Interview

I have taken 3rd interview of Mr Ahmed. He is 65 year old man. He has served his whole life in army. He is very discipline man.Following are his view about generations social issues.

Q) What is your view of biggest social problem in UAE?

A) We should optimize traffic as it leads a lot of accidents on daily basis. Some boys are fond of rush driving, which leads them to death. Many parents have lost their beloved sons. Every kind of racing should be banned in UAE or any other activity which motivates youth to drive fast should be prohibited.

Q) What do you think about the social problems in generations?

A) Young generations are much educated than past generations. I think past generation should get IT knowledge to make themselves comfortable in new generation because this is IT era and everything is computerized now. Those parents who didn’t remove this difference have no control on their children’s and those child are misusing the technology which leads very chronic social problems.

Q) What is your occupation & economic standing?

A) I am retired Army officer. I have served 30 years in armed forces and as far as my knowledge is concern I think our economy is standing up. I am happy with it.

Q) Are you satisfy with current Health system?

A) I will say Health system is good but a bit costly. Administrators should re-think about the heath policy which is little costly, In terms of medication & surgery. Moreover there should be international standard Medical universities where we can produce our own doctors.

Q) How the social problem should be deal?

A) Make separate departments must be initiated to address social issues where they can research every generation’s social issues. Which will be more effective to recognize the actual problem and after that it can resolve.

4th Interview

4th interview has taken of Mr Imtiaz Buhkari who is 18 year old boy. He is Badminton player.

Q) What is your view of biggest social problem in UAE?

A) Usage of drugs, smoking and drinking is the biggest social problem right now for UAE. Many young and elder one are into these bad habits which is damaging society too much. Moreover lack of job opportunities in UAE now a days is one of the serious issues. And peoplewho are doing job are too much annoyed due to long hours job and low salaries.These are all alarming social issues.

Q) What do you think about the social problems in generations?

A) There is no proper sports policy for youth. Lack of grounds and good trainers is observed. Similarly there should be some healthy policies for elders. Every generation is facing problems due to lack of healthy sports policies.

Q) What is your occupation & economic standing?

A) Economic standing is good as our relations with foreign countries are going.It can be perfect if all Islamic countries form an alliance together and start selling oil in AED or SR currency to whole world. From this act our currency will boost. My occupation is sportsman. I am badminton player.

Q) Are you satisfy with current Health system?

A) Health facilities are good .But now a days people are into fast & junk foods. This is not healthy and causes a lot of health issues. People should avoid junk foods.

Q) How the social problem should be deal?

A) Centralized committee should be make to resolve generation to generation social issues by meeting students in schools and universities. And I launched a survey from home to home

to know the basic social issues.

Understanding of concepts of social problems analysis

High amount of students have dropped school. Smoking and drinking is common. High cost of dowry is perceived amongst the top most prevalent social issues in the UAE due to rapid urbanisation (Mutawa, 2006). Road accidents and divorce are also rising high, affecting the social fabric of country (Swan, 2012).One should understand the concept of social problems that if social law is abused then society can never find prosperity path.

Divorce has emerged as one the serious problems in UAE. It has been negative effects on almost all levels of the society. There are various causes behind this. The major reason is that the society is rapidly changing in which the families are dispersed for more than one reason. The marriages without the consent of the couple is of the biggest problem that has even worsened the crisis. It also has negative impacts on the women and men to a large extent. The influence of western media has led to growth in bad habits such as consumption of alcohol and drugs amongst youth.

Conclusion

There are different opinions came from different generations, whom I interviewed. Young girls are satisfy with the security but married woman aren’t satisfy with the atmosphere outside. Everyone looks so optimistic to resolve social issues within the societies. Youth are worried due to less job opportunities. I believe that education and health are the basic necessities. By implementing good policies in these departments we may overcome all kind of generation and social problems. There must be massive educational campaigns to eradicate the social evils from the society.
