Judgment from Everyone and Everywhere

Judgment from everyone and everywhere. Sad isnt it. No matter how much you try not to judge others or how much you try to escape it, it happens anyways. Im so tired of constant judgment. Especially from people I would never expect to actually do it. Just keep asking yourself this question: who are you to judge someone else? To make comments about how that person lives his/her life? To put them down if you don’t agree with something they’ve said or done? It’s not like we all are meant for the same path. We aren’t all supposed to end up in the same place, in the same situations, or end up with the same results in life. So why is it that people think they have the right to tell others that they are wrong? Who’s to say that the choices they’re making won’t lead them to where they’re meant to be?
I think that’s what I find most frustrating about people who are constantly judging others. They seem to think that everyone is meant for the same thing, means for the same purpose, but no. that’s wrong. We all have our own path, our own journeys, and our own purpose in life. Stop judging people all the time and just let them live their lives how they wish. Just because their path doesn’t match yours, doesn’t mean they’re wrong. They are their own person. You are meant to be different from them. Maybe your paths were never meant to cross. Just like in the book To Kill a Mocking Bird, when Mrs. Dubois was slowly dying of cancer. She was so addicted to morphine to help her live a little bit longer. But, she was tired of taking those pills she wanted to die so she can be out of pain. Jem always thought she was a mean only lady but in reality she was going through a lot.
Why do we judge people? Whether it’s giving that girl in the too-tight outfit a crappy glance, or talking about people who sometimes make mistakes? What gives anyone the right to say anything? I will admit that I have done my fair shares, I believe at some time or another all of us have. But why? Jealousy? Or so we really have a dislike for certain people that we haven’t even met? Nothing feels worse than judging someone, and then getting to know them better, and knowing what kind of a person you were to them. Often times the circumstances that lead to judge other are not true or not the whole story. What kind of person does that make you or me? I know that we have all done or said things in the past that we are not proud of. What if someone only knew that about you? They didn’t know the real you, but because of your “mistake” they took it upon themselves to figure that you were a bad person. I know a lot of us have been judged, knowing the pain of that, why do we still judged others? This is something I have been thinking about for a long time. Every time I walked through the halls, you will always see someone saying something bad about someone I swear life would be so much better if everyone would grow up and stop judging each other. In the book to kill a mocking bird when everyone thought Boo Radley was a bad person because of all the rumors people tell them. But at the end he actually helps someone. A lot of people think differently about him.

We don’t have the right to judge someone. You have no idea what that person has been through. There’s a story behind every person there’s a reason why they’re the way they are. Think about that before you judge someone. I think the person who has the right to judge someone is the guy who died on the cross for you, and that is God. Judging people you don’t know for things you don’t understand is just really stupid and makes you look bad. What I hate the most is when people judge you by your actions. Like if you smoke well, good for you. You drink? Congrats. You wear a lot of makeup? Cool. You don’t? That’s cool to. Who cares that you have tattoos or piercing? If you like them that’s all that matters. If they have a problem with that that’s their fault not yours. Just because they are look different doesn’t mean they don’t deserve respect! In this society they tell you to be yourself, and then they judge you, and all of this judgmental stuff leads to bullying then bullying leads to suicide. I have lost someone so close to me because of that. He always thought he was worthless and nobody like him, and that he was alone in this world. See what judging can really do? You are ruining someone else’s life so you can have a good one. In the book to kill a mocking bird, the cunning hams were poor famers. They didn’t have a lot of things. They could barely afford food. They had to pay people with their food because they don’t have any money. Could you live their life? They had to use sacks for clothes. They could never take what they can’t give back.
Judging people is wrong. You see? Just because someone has piercings or tattoos, doesn’t mean that he/she is a bad person. Stop judging so much on appearance and start getting to know people. Everyone has a story. Everyone has gone through something that has changed them. So, don’t judge. You were born to be real. Not perfect. You’re here to be you, not to be something you’re not. Stand up for yourself, look them in the eye, and say “Don’t judge me until you know me.” What’s wrong with just being you? Nothing. People judge by appearance, but God looks at the heart. Judging a person does not define who they are. It defines who you are. Don’t judge a person’s walk if you haven’t worn their shoes.
