The Weakness behind Online Education

In our world everyone is different and unique. All of us have different learning methods that best help us counterfeit through our educational quests. A few learn best through applied methods, while others have tremendous memories and find that learning from text books help them best maintain the material at hand. This is why online education cannot replace universities and colleges and even books and pens.

Virtual classes have many disadvantages which cannot be ignored by the public which has made a great effect on the youth of the future, and although it's wide spread on the internet but the truth is that many of them do not have a licensed degree. Since Online degrees are not verifiable as college or university degrees by many countries and companies, thus online graduates are going to find difficulty in finding a job. Moreover, they will face big problems in their careers in the future. Few of them are low wages and few or no skills in their profession.

Online learning has disadvantages. Some people learn and gain knowledge better in a traditional class because they need the live communication with other students and an instructor. Online classes may try to simulate classroom interaction, but they cannot duplicate it. In fact, In order for a student to succeed at online learning, he/she must have some skills. And he/she must have to be self-motivated, responsible for their studies and have good time management skills. If students have those skills, traditional classes will be the best choice for them.

One major disadvantage of online education, especially if it's about e-learning grids (a one-stop-hub for the growing community of e-Learning practitioners) and virtual educational communities, is accessibility. Another disadvantage of online education is the technology involved. Not everyone has access to a computer with internet connection. Without this access, online education will be much more difficult than it is to be. And even those who do have the required equipment and the access to internet are too intimidated by it to use it for online education. Since remote education does not include any technical experience courses, then it is not as efficient as a complete education.

Drawback in online education is the lack of technical skills required to achieve an online degree. Most people are still not that technologically advanced to cope up with the methods that are used to make online education better. It doesn't mean that all students are not equipped with this technology; however there are still a large number of students who lag behind. Even many of the administration people and lecturers find difficulty in operating the programs of online education which are probably teaching or monitoring students. The tutors, themselves, have acquired their degree through means of universities or colleges and thus they are mostly not well used with the gadgets online educating programs.

Another major disadvantage of online education is the self-discipline it requires. While being able to set your own schedule can be an advantage, it can also be a disadvantage. Students who face difficulty with time management usually aren't very successful with online education. These students perform better with traditional learning.

With a considerable amount of money paid for the opportunity to learn, the lack of motivation is often the collapse of those who seek out remote education. Another major disadvantage is the lack of interaction, in which if you aren't in a classroom and don't have the opportunity to discussion and hear questions from other students. Social segregation can be something that outbreaks a student of online school or university. As you work on your online degree, you will have access to an online classroom much like a university or college. However, the manner in which you explore that structure with other people is much different. In a university or college, you directly discuss with students strategies and even meet them in a group quickly. In online learning, students discuss their matters with their fellow students over the email or through discussion forums. These discussions are not in real time so it is difficult to manage time in group situations. These methods of online education restrict the student-professor interaction, which is annoying for students who need instant feedback. “The difference is obvious to anybody who's had the luxury of learning in a classroom with a couple of dozen people. Compare that with trying to get a professor's attention in a cavernous lecture hall surrounded by hundreds of other students. It only gets worse online”.

Moreover, online education is more of a business than providing education. “Great expectations have yielded great expenditures”.

Most of online learning materials are in computer text format, if someone is not comfortable with this format and prefer to listen to the lecture instead of reading it. Then, it will become a disadvantage, and reconsidering a decision is a must before choosing online education to be his degree pursuing channel. As a matter of fact, the advantages of online learning can become the disadvantages if you are not the right candidate. Planning a schedule in online education could be a disadvantage if a student is of the type who can't manage his time probably between work, study and family.

Plagiarism is one if the things that online course professors face, where they get most of their work published by the online university they work for. “Courses offered in the medium of cyberspace leave digital records of all that transpires, raising profound questions about whether schools have the right to repackage and sell a professor's work”.

As far as online education has many disadvantages it also has advantages. If a student has the equipment and internet access available then online education will be a good choice to choose. This will give the student the opportunity of staying with his family. Moreover, he can attend online classes from any place which has internet access. Flexibility is another advantage of online education. Students are usually not tied to a schedule so they can study at any free time they have. Since a student can attend online classes from any place with internet access then he/she can study at home and if the place where he/she lives is not equipped with an internet access then subscribing to and internet connection will not cost him as moving to another place.

Online education will always lag behind traditional education as means of employment, where graduates may find that they have to discuss the validity of their degree and information about the school's accreditation. And that most of the communication will be through email so students might miss the sound of an instructor or peer's voice. Furthermore, not all courses of study are easily available online. If a student is interested in a more unusual field, he/she may have difficulty finding a source for online education. I say if online education was the choice by every person every time, then we wouldn't have built schools and universities.
