Supplier B on the other hand scored higher than both supplier A and B, with a total score of 86, scoring higher than supplier A in all levels except delivery with equal level. Supplier C is the worst of all suppliers. So supplier B is the best suited for this purchase of baking flour, and should be awarded the contract.
The above developed weightings for criterion dependent on assessment of how important each criterion factors are to the success of selecting supplier C for the supply of baking flour and the impact it will have on the company's activities could as well be measured.
Decision/ choice of selected supplier:
All these factors enables the procurement team to make decision regarding the suitability of suppliers to fit into the current portfolio of products and prices, since the overall budget is the responsibility of the procurement team, they reach the final agreement on wish supplier to pick based on the budget and delivery process across the country for baking flour.

This risk is offset by the fact that multiple sourcing creates availability of alternative suppliers for products, in case of a failure in supply. Single supply source does not give that chance. Such companies that originally tendered but were unsuccessful, the procurement team for Green Chilly Company keep their records and with the incentive of such suppliers they stand a chance or opportunity to win the business for themselves. Multiple sourcing helps in rendering faster solution in cases where some suppliers are under performing.
The evaluation criteria employed by the procurement team in this case study of Green Chilly Company's chain of restaurants, for the procurement of baking flour was carried out on determining characteristics which includes technical competence, financial stability, constituency and the volumes supplied. Procurement team should attach more risk to trading with new suppliers. This is because incumbent suppliers have a proven track record of consistency. Potential suppliers can demonstrate their technical ability by producing samples to the required specifications, but the ability to maintain consistency can only be demonstrated once the business has been won. Most importantly, since price is the determining characteristic in supplier choice, this can precipitate the search for a new supplier. Since price reduction is always the major drive in looking for new suppliers to replace old ones with higher price.
In conclusion, the BUYGRID was found to be a good selection process for baking flour for Green Chilly Company's chain of restaurant. The BUYGRID process together with structural role analysis shows how a combination of individuals working in different sectors of the company is included in the procurement team. In selecting a supplier for baking flour all the factors discussed are essential for a final decision. Each member of the procurement team has its role to play in the decision of which strategies and which supply to use. Also how goods and services should be source for and the reasons for keeping inventory. Either as raw material, work-in-process, finished goods lastly spare parts inventories. The purpose of inventory could be determined with the way it's been used whether seasonal (periodical demands, according to holidays and weather), in-transit, speculative, safety (cant run out of stock), dead stock (goods not frequently demanded) or cycle stock (demand all round the year).
