Generally, instructors in these courses will have tolerance for the omission of minutia that might be expected in the more core, functional areas. Despite this, students should be able to cite and apply major theories and theorists as well as handle questions that may seem ambiguous in nature. These questions often present issues for which there may be multiple solutions, regardless of the direction of the answer, the response should be well-reasoned and supported with the application of knowledge obtained from multiple courses.
