Today many organizations are experiencing the effects of decline sales. Where many companies are going into automation to increase the revenue. Main motive of the report is how R.E.M (Repair made easy) evolves from being manual based system to integrating automation in the system. RME majorly deal with spare parts and services for a diverse variety of computers which includes desktops and notebooks at much affordable price. As the time began to roll on the company was left behind the time which was reluctant to change and stuck to manual system which is causing them a several issues in regards with the maintenance of Excel Spreadsheets to keep the track of different customers. The overall aim is implementation of the system is to ensure that a comprehensive information management system is developed which shall have the potential to handle the business processes of the organization in a comprehensive manner.

The overall objective is divided into different segments as the complexity is pretty high since there are different stakeholders as the expectations are different for different groups.

     Need of an information system.

     Need for a proper investigation to implement an effective framework.

     Implementing a Gant chart with WBS consisting the key factors involved into the project.

     Create a cost benefit analysis for the system.

     Open several physical stores that will be connected via internet and will constitute a centralized database which will increase the annual sales and decrease the annual operation cost

2. Approaches to Systems Development

The requirements and specification of the RME are clear and intact as RME is facing difficulties with the manual system and the owner has decided to implement new strategies in regards with the development of the new web-based system. This new web based system will eliminate the loopholes and grey areas while increasing the efficiency and reducing the cost. Employees will also be interconnected with each other as RME is looking to expand its reach and business operations as new physical stores will be established throughout Melbourne. The business could be developed using Waterfall method as the requirements are crystal clear without any deviations in it. Waterfall development allows departmentalization and overall control over the flow of scheduling and deadlines. Each phase of the project is easy to manage due to the rigidity of the waterfall model. 4. Project Cost/Benefit Analysis


Project cost/Benefit analysis plays a vital role in the cost breakdown structure and gives a clear view on financial segment of the project and helps determining the beneficial aspect related to it. The owner has estimated that the life span of the system is 5 years; therefore, the developmental procedure should be completed within 1 year. The net benefit for RME would be $372639.31 after the five years of the new IT system commencing the operation also, the payback period of the project is within 3 years which is 2.21 years exactly and the maintenance cost is $12,000 which were the condition given by the RME management. Recurring cost will be $1000 for the next 5 years. As the project also involves deploying multiple stores throughout Melbourne which will require huge staff taking that into consideration staff cost increases and settles at 290,000 which also increases the hardware and included training cost estimated at $351000 for the hardware and training at $91,000. The projected cost-benefit analysis states that investment on RME will yield benefit for the company in long run.
5. Project Management and Scheduling

The total structure is broken down into smaller fragments to make the work flow easy. Requirement analysis taking 50 days includes getting all the requirement, analyzing the current system and providing a proposal for the new system and sending for the approval taking into consideration the old system has lot of flaws which the new system will overcome. As multiple stores will be opened throughout Melbourne all these stores need to be linked with a centralized system. A new web-based system is to be integrated which will require specific set of people whose expertize will be utilized into this project.

The entire project was revolving around RME issues and how effectively to comprehend them. Though am satisfied with the development the employees require effective training to access the system and the management have to ensure proper utilization.

 In attempting to provide a viable system and understanding intricacies of the system development the system has been developed with adequate tools. However, the maintenance of the system has to be ensured.
