In the case of accidents involving vehicles there are many causes. One is trying to overtake and very often taking risk. Another is wrong judgment in crossing. Sometimes it may be not caring for the signals. In crowded streets accidents may take place in a snap second because one does not care for the signal. "Stop, look and go" is the best precept; it will save vehicles from accidents. But where one takes a foolish step, the result is the inevitable accident. Jay riding may be another cause. Riding two or three abreast is always dangerous. Especially one must be aware of this. Scooter riders become victims of road accidents. But if they just wear the helmet as required by law they could easily avoid fracture and hence death.

Very often the cause of accidents is the failure of the brake system which means the owner of the vehicle does not bother to keep the machine in good condition. By attending to the vehicle regularly a lot of miseries could be avoided.

Road safety is a matter of education in which the school can play a significant role. Through scouting, Red Cross and social education classes, children can be taught the importance of observing the rules of the road

To make the people road conscious, the mass media can play a useful role. The newspaper, the wall poster and the cinema and now the TV come in handy. Shots in the cinema or TV emphasizing the importance of road safety can be highlighted. There may be speeches over the radio by the police officials. During peak hours in crowded areas, the police may direct the traffic and ask people to keep to their lanes.

The dream I never forget

One of the human faculties which distinguishes him from others is that he is able to dream. However, one is not sure whether other animals dream; if at all they dream they have no medium to express it is just as the human. Every human being should have had dreams, some of them very pleasant, some of them bizarre and horrible; in the latter case a few have a hell of a life and they call it the nightmare. In a nightmare one may feel as if he is being choked or being drowned.

I too dream and had one recently, which may be of interest. I become a ruler of my country. Suddenly I find myself at the head of a procession, to be correct it is a motorcade and I am in a Cadillac. Huge crowds, men and women and children all in their fine dress line the route through which I am taken. There are victory arches and flags and festoons. Photo flashes burst and hundreds of photographers take pictures of mine.

At last I enter a massive mansion; the guards present me the honor. I am taken by well dressed courtiers to the throne. The reception hall is big and spacious; there are glittering windows and doors, and colorful chandeliers are hung from high roof. Colored light beams into the hall as sunlight filters itself into the hall thorough stained glass panes..

This dream did not continue long as my alarm clock began chiming, and it was time for me to get up and study. The sweet dream vanished like the snow before the morning sun but that was the best dream I ever had.

good friends

I have a number of close friends both at school and outside of it. Although I am close to all of them I like and respect a particular one above the others..

ahmad is my best friend for a number of reasons. I can always come to him for advice on any difficulties I may be experiencing and I value his advice as it is sensible and very practical. Everyone who knows ahmad says that he is very mature for his age. It astounds me how much ahmad knows on a variety of subjects. He is well read and never ceases to try and instill the reading habit in me. Needless to say he is who helps me with my school homework when I encounter problems. I remember the time that I foolishly joined a few friends from school and experimented with cigarettes, ahmad as a school prefect found us out and was duty bound to report the matter to the disciplinary teacher. All of my friends who were involved in the incident thought that ahmad was simply being a tattle-tale but. I knew tha the took his responsibilities seriously and only had my well being in mind.

ahmad is admirable as a friend and a person and is well spoken of by everyone who knows him. I am glad that I have his friendship and feel that I have grown wiser as a result of it.

How to stay healthy

In addition to regular exercise, a healthy well balanced diet is essential for good health. Life or rather the quality of life you have is dependent on having good health. A well balanced diet would contain the three main groups of food as well as important vitamins and minerals.

The first group of carbohydrates are found in foods such as bread, potatoes and rice. They are essentially energy giving foods which power the muscles and other tissues in our body. The next class of food is the proteins which form the solid part in all living cells. They are commonly found in milk, met and fish, and are necessary for the body to build new cells and repair old damaged ones. For this very reason growing children require a greater intake of the different kinds of proteins as compared to adults. Lastly we have fats which are also energy-living foods but do not give it up as quickly as carbohydrates because their molecular structure is designed to render them ideal as storage foods.

In addition to the foods above the body also needs small quantities of protective substances called vitamins and minerals.

They are normally present in a sensible diet. For example vitamins A and D are found in some fatty foods. Vitamin D is important along with the mineral calcium, found in milk, for the formation of bones. Vitamin B is found in the husks of wheat or rice ad vitamin C in fresh fruits such as oranges and lemons. Important minerals such as potassium, zinc and iron are present in traces n most foods too.

Therefore it is  obvious that a well balanced diet would include all the necessary ingredients necessary for growth and good health.

Life in town and life in city

To live in village or town depends on one's occupation and the facilities one wishes to have. If one is a farmer, he must, of course, live in a country side or in a village. But if he seeks employment elsewhere, towns offer better chances. Again living in a village or a town is a matter of preference. Those who prefer peace and silence, may choose villages. Generally, towns are noisy and crowded. each has got its own advantages as well as disadvantages.

Take the case of a village first. a village is less crowded and there is more breathing space. One can enjoy nature in its pure form. There is no hurry or bustle of a city or a town. In the village one is not a slave to the clock. If the village is a prosperous one and the man himself owns a few hectares of land where he can grow his own food, then the village is the better place. One the other hand, if the village is underdeveloped with no facilities for a healthy living, then the village is not desirable. Because many of these things are wanting in a village, people go to towns for setting up homes.

Towns as a rule, score many good points over the village. There are educational, medical and transport facilities. Essential things are easily available because there are big markets. The employment prospects are also better in a town than a village.

For those who seek entertainment, towns have cinema houses and entertainment centers. All other facilities like banking, postal and telephone are easily available in a town.

But it is not all rosy in a town. With its dense settlement and pollution, townlife is hell. the only reason that draws people to towns is the employment opportunities. If villages are modernized with some primary facilities, then villages may be preferred to towns.

the Advantages and Disadvantages of the Internet

I think by far the biggest advantage of the Internet is it helps me to find information on almost any topic I want to know about. It has helped me cut down my `research' time tremendously. Now all I have to do is access my favorite web sites and type in the relevant topics and I get more information that I can deal with!

Another advantage is the Internet enables me to run programs I do not own. Many programs are too expensive to own. I not only can run these programs but I can also copy them for later use.

-     Computers have made it easier for us to communicate on a global scale, though the internet has also had a helping hand with this.

-     We are able to produce documents with ease because of computers. On typewriters, as a comparison, one would either need whiteout or to go back and type over a mistaken letter or grammar issue. Thus, it is easier to correct typed documents.

-     Documents can also be scanned into computers for editing in various programmes.

-     We can edit photos, videos, and much more with a computer.

-     Calculators, calendars, and plenty of other software exist to make computers a necessary part of everyday life.

-     In essence the main advantage is how easy computers have made life.

-     There are certain things upcoming generations are not learning as well because of computers.

-     For example, computers in a place of business have negated the need for counting back money. When the computer is down those who do not know how to calculate totals in their mind are at a loss.

-     We seem to spend more time indoors on computers rather than getting exercise given the games, software, and communication aspects computers provide.

-     Computers are set up with a certain "shelf life" meaning they need replacement and many versions are already obsolete the minute we buy them.

-     They are also quite costly.

Smoking is very dangerous for your health. There are only disadvantages of smoking. I can't find any single advantage of smoking. However if you ask smoker, "Why do you smoke? What you will get by smoking a cigarette?" Well, they will tell you lots of benefits of smoking. Some of them are smoking makes you relax, smoking reduces stress etc...

Cigarettes are made using tobacco. Tobacco contains nicotine. Nicotine is very harmful drug for your health. When you smoke a cigarette, you are not taking only nicotine inside your body but you take thousands of other chemicals also.

At the time of smoking, you are taking carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide in to your lung through tobacco burning. This carbon dioxide will be mixed with your blood and slowly it will reduce your efficiency of doing work. I mean you will feel tired. You cannot run as fast as non smoker can run. Smoking will create breath problems. Another problem with smoking is that it may increase your blood pressure. Chances of heart attack will increase with smoking. Chances of being diabetic patient will be more. Chances of lung cancer will be more in smoker because of carbon monoxide and nicotine.

Your immune system will also be affected. Smoker feel elder than non smoker of their age. Resistance power against diseases will be reduced.

Another issue is that work capacity of your brain will be reduced. Study shows that smokers will start losing their memory at the age of 50. Stress problem is common in smokers. Sometimes it leads to minor depression. Smoking creates only problems. So be deterministic and quit smoking for good.

Why I learn english

English is considered to be the most common and important language of the world today. A great number of people understand and use English in every part of the world.

English is the most useful language. Being good at English, we can travel to any place or any country we like. We shall not find it hard to make others understand what we wish to say.

English also helps us to learn all kinds of subjects. Hundreds of books are written in English every day in all countries to teach people useful things. The English language has therefore helped to spread ideas and knowledge to all the corners of the world. There is no subject that cannot be learned in the English language.

As English is used so much everywhere in the world, it has helped to make countries of the world become friendlier with one another. The leaders of the world use English to understand one another. The English language has therefore spread better understanding and friendship among countries of the world.

Lastly, as a person who knows English easily get more knowledge from many parts of the world, he or she is respected by people. It is for all these reasons that I want to learn English.

My plans for the future.

When millions of young people leave school, they begin an independent life. Some of them start working, go into business, some of them continue schooling to receive a higher education.

Young people can learn about professions in magazines and advertisements. Magazines for teenagers often offer questionnaires, quizzes or surreys to help young people to find out what their interests and abilities are more clearly and to make a decision concerning their future occupation.

While choosing a career you should take into consideration main demands that you want your future profession to meet: the profession must be interesting, you have to be sure of your future (that means that you will be able to find a job after graduation from the university), a profession must be well-paid, otherwise you won't be able to support yourself and your future family.

During our school life we begin to think about our future life, our job. There over 2000 professions in the world, so it is quite difficult to choose and to make a decision. Some follow their own choice and some follow their relation's, teacher's, parent's advice, because they can guide them and help to make a decision concerning future plans. I have never had a question, what I am going to do when I graduate from my school. I have known from childhood that I want to be a linguist. I have chosen this profession, because a knowledge of foreign languages and foreign cultures is growing in importance nowadays. Foreign languages are needed as the main and the most efficient mean of information exchange between the people of our planet. Although there are 3000 languages, English is the most universal. It is the language of progressive science and technology, trade and cultural relations, and business. It is the universal language of international aviation, shipping, sports, medicine. English is the official language in nearly forty countries. It is spoken by more than 350 millions people and also spoken as a second language in many parts of India and Africa. Besides, millions of people study English as a foreign language . In our country English is very popular. It is studied at schools, colleges and universities.

It is important for me to learn English because I want to know what is going on round me in the world. With recent advances in technology, the world is changing rapidly in many fields, such as business, arts and medicine. These changes will affect me soon and its important for me to read and keep up with these changes. In fact, learning English is the answer to a lot of the things that I need and want. And I can't help mentioning the quotation: "Every man is the maker of his own fortune."

In conclusion I would like to say it is an advantage to choose our future career while at school. It gives us a goal to work towards and enables us to choose a right, suitable course of study. I'd like to mention also that if we don't think about our future, nobody will think for us, so we just can't have one. We must work hard to archive out ambitions and to realize our wishes, because future is purchased by the present.

Advantages of Fast Food

The most evident advantage of fast food is that it saves time. In today's fast-paced life, there is nothing better than getting a ready meal. No matter how much the chefs praise the benefits of fresh food, at the end of a hard-working day, when one returns home all tired and hungry, a pizza or a burger can be godsend. Besides the time an individual has to spend in the kitchen, cooking a meal also requires one to make a trip to the supermarket to buy the ingredients for the dish. Then there is the added effort and time consumed in washing and peeling the vegetables. All this makes eating fast food score more preferably over cooking a meal for a busy individual.

Besides time, cost saving gives fast food an edge over the meal prepared in the kitchen. If one lives alone, then it is cheaper to buy a meal at the supermarket instead of cooking it at home. Also certain fast foods like fries and burgers come pretty cheap.

Fast food does raise health concerns. However, if careful, you can find some options on the menu of a fast food restaurant that could be healthier. Salads are a smart choice. Go for bread products that are made from wheat bread. Opt for lean meat. If you could choose between the fried and boiled options, order the boiled preparation. Avoid ordering carbonic drinks when you are thirsty. Go for fruit juices, low-fat milk, diet soda. Is there anything better than plain water to quench your thirst? These days, nutrition information of the food served (and ingredients used) is displayed in the menu card. You could always resort to the 'make to order' option that certain fast food outlets offer, where you could restrict the use of ingredients that are not healthy. As dessert does not play an important role in the fast food meal menu, you can keep yourself away from delicious and tempting sugary dishes.

Disadvantages of Fast Food

Usually, fast food is higher in soya, fat, sugar, oil, fried meat, salt, cheese, mayonnaise and obviously calories. The greatest disadvantage of fast food is the adverse effect that it has on one's health. It is a fact that fast food is more unhealthy than home-cooked meals, as it contains higher amounts of unwanted nutrients like salt, fat and various types of additives (artificial chemicals). It may contain harmful bacteria too. Frying destroys most of the essential nutrients from the food. Very small amounts of vegetables and fruits are normally present in fast food. Moreover, 'serving larger portions' when most people don't need extra portions has led to several health problems. We require a small amount of salt to maintain the health of the cells and tissues. Fast food being rich in salt, adversely affects the heart health and the overall health of an individual. Such type of food is an important contributor to obesity in the American population. Obesity is on the rise, and a direct link is being cited between fast food and obesity in children.

Given the sedentary lifestyle that we lead today, the excess fats and calories that we take in with fast food is not used up completely. The result is that these accumulate in our body as fat deposits that cause complications like cardiovascular diseases and other related diseases of the heart. With obesity come other problems like high blood pressure and diseases of the joints. It is like a chain reaction set off by fast food and carried forward by our unhealthy lifestyle. In fact, a recent study has shown that people who live within walking distance of a fast food restaurant are at 13% higher risk of suffering from strokes than those who live a considerable distance away.

The greater the number of people at a meal in a fast food restaurant, the larger is the bill. Eating at fast food outlets is economical only for a single person. Going out to a fast food eating joint with family once in a while won't matter much. However, frequent visits to such restaurants with one's family can become quite an expensive affair, besides being unhealthy.

Fast food joints are also being seen as a factor that is making a number of families spend less and less time together. Family meal time is something that is considered as an opportunity for all the members to come together and share their experiences. However, the fast food centers are quickly eating into this quality time. This is especially true about youngsters for whom a fast food center is a good place to hangout with friends and peers.

Fast food is an invention of the modern times. Ready-made food being served fast and right in front of us is like a blessing after a hard day's work. However, like everything, it has its own pros and cons. Citing a few points about the advantages of fast food does not mean that I am denying its drawbacks. It is a fact that high amounts of fats and salt in fast food are raising concerns about their adverse effect on health. However, by making some smart choices while placing the order and also resorting to an active lifestyle, we can definitely minimize the drawbacks of fast food.

The most important advantage that it consists of is that it was thought due to a social need: time. People need more time and saving the time that we were spending it in the kitchen makes our life easier. Eating fast food involves the conformity of not cooking and spending more time in the kitchen than necessary. This way, we can use our time on other things that are more important, like family, friends or work.

- Fast food can be carefully selected and this way, it can consist of healthy food. Boiled potatoes instead of fries, natural juice instead of carbonic drinks, salads instead of a burger.

- The price of fast food is not expensive. This way, many of us can afford a lunch or dinner bought from a fast food.

- The main disadvantage is the fact that fast food can be very dangerous if we make a habit of eating fast food meals. Buying this kind of food once in a while is not a problem and we can enjoy it, but the excessive consummation can harm our health extremely. Obesity is one major problem we are confronting with and fast foods are partly responsible for this.

- Eating a home cooked meal together with the family is a great thing and many families are together only during these meals. If the families will replace this tradition with the fast food solution, many families will meet or sit together rarely and that can ruin the relationship of them.
