Ten Commandments for Success
Success in life is every person's aim. Every one wants to be a successful engineer, or a successful teacher, or a successful doctor, or person on any post with SUCCESS. For every success a person needs path of principles to follow. Each religion had its own commandments, so needs the religion of success. Everyone wants to reach at the top of the ladder of success, but few of them try and a very few make it.

First step on the ladder of success is to face the fear and the truth. Sometimes the biggest strength becomes the biggest weakness, and biggest weakness becomes strength. As poison kills poison, fear overcomes failure. “It was a high counsel that I once heard given to a young person, “ always do what you are afraid to do.” As Ralph Emerson says a person should face his or her fear; however before it person should be aware of his or her weaknesses. One must accept the truth about one's weaknesses. A person should not care what people say about him or her. We have to face them. “Risk! Risk anything! Care no more for options of others, for those voices. Do the hardest thing on the earth for you. Act for yourself. Face the truth” (Katherin Mansfield). Bravest person is the one who accept the truth, not the one denies it. A person who is not willing to admit can never understand what he or she is afraid if. The one, who does not know what he or she is afraid of, can never achieve success. When we will realize our fears, all of our senses and energies would be tackling to destroy it, not to hide it. Once we overcome our fear, it can never haunt us again and provides us double strength to succeed.
Second step on this ladder is to never quit. Quitting always demoralizes a person. Douglas MacArthur said “age wrinkles body, quitting wrinkles soul”. Quitting is never a good plan. Quitting will ensure our failure. Once we quit, we will quit every time we see something difficult. It will break our self-confidence. Life is not an easy game. We have to pass all the tests in order to get what we want. We all have heard about the story that Alexander got inspiration from an ant trying to reach the top of the wall. Even though it failed sixteen times, it finally made it in seventeenth time. If the ant had quitted, it would have never reached the top. Quitting is as bad as committing suicide. Life is given to us as a gift. We must make full use of it. “Effort only fully releases its reward after a person refuses to quit” (Napoleon Hill). We all want to live as long as we can, but in return will have to struggle. A king can never get hold over land, if he does not fight for it. We can never achieve success if we do not work for it.
Third step on this ladder is to be optimistic. We should never think negative for our life. Once we start thinking about downfall, our energy would be wasted in that thought. We should turn the tables around. “When life gives you hundred reasons to cry, show life that you have thousands reasons to smile” (Felicia Halim). We should make the situations weaker in front of us and should never let them overpower us. In every failure there is a hidden success. We should try to think about the moments we have gained something. “When one door closes, another opens; but often we look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door that we go not see the one that has just opened for us” (Alexander G. Bell). It is true that we have to remove the illusion of failure. The way we have been going would have driven us to the failure, so God might have closed it to show us the right one. “Jo too karah karaavah Suaamee Saa Maslat parvaan” (Guru Granth Sahib Ji, 677). Whatever you do, or cause to be done, O Lord, that outcome is acceptable to me. One can only be optimistic by accepting God's will not by loosing hope. We should remember that “If alphabet 'O' stands for 'Opportunity', it's absent in 'yesterday', one's in “tOday' and thrice in 'tOmOrrOw'. So there's always a new opportunity waiting for us tomorrow” (motivational quotes). Everything depends upon how we think. If we think we are going to loose then no one can save us. If we think we are going to succeed no one can stop us.

Next step of this ladder is to be strong determination. Our will can take us wherever we want to go. There is nothing impossible if we want to do it. We all know that hundred miles journey start from one step. Journey can never be finished if we are not determined to finish it. Our will power and efforts will make everything possible. Allama Iqbbal has written “Khudi ko kar buland itna k har tehreer se pehle khuda khud bande se puche aye bande bande teri raza kya hai”, means a person should be so determined that God himself would have to ask about the person's consent before writing his or her destiny. Sometime these sayings seems jokes to us, but they are true. I have wished something in my life two years ago. Since that day little changes are happening around me, which are turning my wish into a reality. I knew it was impossible, yet I wished. Now it is coming true. I have realized that it was never impossible. I have wished from deep within my heart; I have wanted it from my soul. I have been living only to make my wish come true. I have never supposed of its reality; nevertheless, it has been my strong desire, which is going to rise the sun from west and join the two opposite ends of the ocean. I have heard once that if you strongly desire something from the bottom of your heart, nature will try to unite it with you (Om Shanti Om movie). Therefore, strong determination in very important for success in life.
Silence is important step on the ladder of success. It is very important for once concentration and inner stability. It is also an important part of conversations. “The real art of conversation is not to say the right thing at the right time, but also to leave unsaid the wrong thing at the tempting moment (SuLee). Sometimes it is better to remain silent than to say something. Silence can better explain a situation than blowing out words. One question can arise hundred other questions, but silence can retain those questions. Words are mightier than sword. Sometimes words can destroy a person's whole life. Our own words can be misquoted to use against us. One wrong word can ruin whole life. Silence can give us more time and will not harm our peace.
Further on the ladder of success step is build up by accepting the life in the way it is going. One should never ask, “why me?” We must value our life. Life would be tasteless without sorrows. If we only taste sweetness, we will never know the value of sweetness, as it is known in bitterness. “Happiness needs sadness. Success needs failure. Benevolence needs evil. Love needs hatred. Victory needs defeat. Pleasure needs pain. You must experience and accept the extremes. Because if the contrast is lost, you lose appreciation; and when you lose appreciation, you lose the value of everything” (Philippos). Reward gotten without struggling is worth nothing. We never waste away our hard earned money. Why life is being wasted? We shall not regret for the past. We always learn from our mistakes. We can use our past experience to make our future as bright as we want. There is one condition: we must make full use of our present. Life is all about values. It can only be valued by holding on our today carefully. Everything that has happened around us is a way to teach us how to live. Nothing is fruitless, if we make proper use of it. Appreciation and acceptance are doors to success.
Faith in God builds a very strong step on this ladder. Faith is the navigator in the vehicle of life. Even though we astray from our path, it will bring us back on the right track. Our trust and meditation will lead us on our way. “Night and day, O Nanak, whoever vibrates and meditates on the Lord's name, sees all of his work brought to fruition” (Guru Granth Sahib Ji, 1427). Un breakable faith makes our journey easier. God himself help out his devotees. We would not have to worry about anything. I have a life-changing incident. In my eighth grade I was only one point ahead my competitor and the whole world turned around. They viewed me as a winner. But I knew that I was not able to do that, and it was a miracle for me. God helped me out. We cannot even imagine the power of faith. Flow of running water can also be changed by faith and devotion. Success would be in our feet, if we have faith.

On the ladder of success of thoughts can twist our success ladder into a failure. We must break dilemma of our thoughts. All other thoughts are illusions; only one is the true, which came first into our mind. That one originates from the deep and fresh ocean of our heart. Only that one can give us complete satisfaction. “Do not aim for success if you want it; just do what you love and believe in, and it will come” (David Frost). We can only do what we can do happily and desire from our heart. To get what makes us happy does not need any extra work. It needs our belief in our thoughts. Our thoughts show our thinking and power. When we are trying to solve something, all our senses work to find solution for it. But the best solution is in the first thought, which lasts for only a few seconds. Sometimes we cannot even recognize it. How can we succeed we are not clear about our own thoughts? Every time I work with my first thought I get everything right, even if it is related with my study. It is really very important for us to get cleared our thoughts to succeed.
The next very important step for success is to realizing inner strength and power. Our body have great source of energies. Understanding our inner power will certain our success. Everything resides inside us. “O man! See thy heart and do not wander in distraction” (Guru Granth Sahib Ji, 727). Our unconsciousness is our hindrance. Once we come to know our inner power, our problems will start resolving automatically. We are trapped in our self-created web of problems, which can only be broken by self-awareness. Inner power will provide us with long-lasting strength to succeed.
Love is uppermost step on this ladder. Person without love is weaker than any creature on the earth. Love is strength, and it adds happiness to our life. We must stay away from people opposing love and filled with horrible anger. Those kind of people will fill hatred in our hearts too. Their inner vices and negative energies will interfere with our concentration and inner joy. Love can keep us strong enough to fight anyone. It can never weaken us. It is a power, which help us to break the false ties around ourselves. Success is unattainable without love.
Success does not mean to never fail. It is to get over the failures, which can be done by following these Ten Commandments. Difficulties are not present to destroy us, but they are testing our abilities. We should make ourselves difficult than anything. Success in not an easy journey, but we can ensure a safe arrival by struggling hard. We can never be a looser if we do not misunderstand ourselves. We cannot shot if we do not know our aim. To find out our aim we must self-realize. What others say we cannot do is the thing we can easily do. Life is given to us; to live is our right. We can choose any way to live, but success is sure if we have love, inner power, optimism, strong-determination, and faith.
