Human resource development is the top prioritied aspect in any developing country for the economic development and strategic survival of that nation. Even an NPE 1986 it was recognized that expenditure on education is a fruitful and desirable investment for its growth. since illiteracy and unemployment are considered as the basic problems of these countries education at school level is one of the most important function of the Government. Since India is one of the developing countries it is no exception for it. Great technological development intensive computerization and rapid globalization are making this problem even complicated. However great the technological development may be the success of any school education depends mostly on the school teacher .As was stated by Dr. Kothari that the future of any nation is shaped in the class room, the class room interaction between the children and the teacher which will be controlled by the teacher will decide the future of the country. Thus, the efficiency or effectiveness of the school teacher is the ultimate deciding factor for the success of any educational system, which leads to the potential human resource.

The competency or effectiveness of a teacher is a very complicated concept since it is multi dimensional. So, the measurement of this aspect depends upon the view point from which it is perceived. It can be viewed from the characteristics of teachers or the practices adopted by the teachers or the outcomes through their teachers. These three dimensions of the teacher effectiveness may be influenced by the orientation of the teachers. So there can be a strong relationship between teacher effectiveness and attitude of the teachers towards the teaching profession. The efficient working of the teachers may also depend upon the organization and management of the school. The school climate may create stress, to the teacher which may reduce the efficiency. Thus stress among the teachers also may have some influence on their teaching competency. Every individual will have some interest and aspirations. If they are fulfilled the efficiency may increase and if they are not fulfilled the efficiency may decreased. Hence Job satisfaction as a teacher may also have some influence on the competency of the teacher. Thus, to control the variable, the teaching competency the knowledge of the relationships between teaching competency and variables like attitude towards teaching, teaching stress, and job satisfaction are essential.

Limitations of the present study:

In the present study 510 women teachers were selected from secondary schools located in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. These schools include the normal Govt., ZP, and private schools only. The teachers are confined to Telugu medium secondary schools only.

At all stages only women teachers were considered.

In the present study teacher competency is analyzed in relation to certain personality characteristics of teachers like, Stress, Job Satisfaction and Attitude towards teaching profession. There are so many other such characteristics like, intelligence, creativity, etc which can also be considered.

In this present study the tools used to collect data are Teaching Competency inventory, teachers Stress inventory, Job Satisfaction questionnaire, and Attitude towards teaching profession scale. These tools are prepared and standardized to suit the target population. There may be so many diversities among these teachers. But the tools are same for all of them giving considerations for these diversities. If you want more accuracy we have to go for more sensitive's.

Educational Implications:

The present study which is focused on teaching competency, stress, job satisfaction, and attitude towards teaching profession and their inter relationships revealed certain very important facts about the processes that are in practice in the educational system in around the area of study.

The teaching competency of the teachers in the present study is mainly due to the presentation. And it was found that their planning and evaluation are not that effective the source of job satisfaction is also not much dependent on economic factors.

The attitudes of teachers are positive but a little bit traditional. And needs change proness. The study of stress among the women teachers also revealed that a considerable stress is there due to some social factors.

Thus the present study as a considerable impact on the practices and opinions in the present educational practices. They will be of much use for taking decisions about the educational practices.

Suggestions:

Through this present study I suggested personally for development of teaching competency among women teachers to attend in-service programmes, and guest lectures, especially improve the planning and evaluation factors of teaching competency.

For improving teaching competency job satisfaction is found necessary. so, necessary steps are to be taken by the government to improve the job satisfaction of women teachers, especially in the areas other than academic factors.

Similarly stress reduction steps are also necessary for improving teaching competency.

To improve the attitude towards teaching profession teacher services are properly recognized. They should be given or assigned prestigious duties rather than menial duties when they are assigned other duties.

Scope for further Research:

In the present study Teaching Competency is studied in relation to non cognitive variables, Job Satisfaction, Stress, and Attitude towards teaching profession. It can be further study in relation to Institutional climate, Work orientation, Leader ship behavior, change pones etc.

The study can be extended vertically, and horizontally. For vertical study the tools can be further sensitized.

Export factor researches and case studies can also be taken up for deeper understanding of the teaching competency.

Studies can also be taken up to study Teaching Competency, in relation to Intelligence, Creativity, and certain personality factors.
