This project basically finds out the measurement of performance of an existing enterprise LAN network in an organization, as a result I come to know various problems and afterwards propose solution must be found to resolve the existing problems, by that the enterprise network LAN performance can get better, furthermore, it can hold most up-to-date multimedia application traffic effortlessly, therefore, in future the company be capable to vigorous and make bigger its economic balance.

2. Objectives

QoS plays an important role for an effective and constant process in broadband networks.

The aim of this project is to investigate the QOS in IP over ATM and IP over MPLS networks, and after through investigation suggest the suitable network for the future real time broadband networks.

a)Research Objective

This project will mainly discuss and focus on finding out new methods of improving our all performance of the network with the help of journals and different citations that are applicable.

Research conducted by evaluating the literatures, books, articles and journals to come across that how the mixture of traffic should deliver on enterprise LAN network.

Accomplish investigation by getting and comparing online articles and further relevant different sources of information includes the OPNET manipulation, uses of conventional hierarchy that comprises of all layered function of the OSI model particularly layer 2 and layer 3. Other information to facilitate will be used include the following:

Internet journals and Electronic citations.

b) Experimental Objectives

At first, examine the performance and effect of the existing system.

Examine the end-to-end delay, utilization in prearranged system.

Secondly, suggest a new fresh system with the implementation of QoS policy schemes (FIFO and WFQ) to boost the performance of the network as well as aim to get rid of the mistakes.

Thirdly, use of VoIP traffic on the evocative system, to accurately measure the traffic load and efficient utilization of bandwidth as a result, company can formulate decision whether to go for promote the system or make use of the existing one.

My primary focus in the current is to comprehensively measuring the end-to-end delay moreover; reduce by implementing QoS in the existing system.

Basic Approach

a)Primary Goals

This project describes the basic feature of MPLS over ATM features, IP over ATM features and multimedia application traffics with special value of service (QoS) necessities.

With the use of Imitation instrument, the MPLS over ATM feature given that ABR, CBR and VBR QoS support, and the IP over ATM feature given that an old UBR QoS feature for relocating data, voice and video traffics are modeled.
