Dragons of autumn twilight starts with a group of companions that come back home after years of their own quests, pledging to return in 5 years. Caramons and raistilins half sister, kitiara was supposed to show up as well, but for some strange reason at the time could only send a ominous note. The day before their reunion, they find that the village they once called home is being run by a religious order called the Seekers for several years now. These Seekers are trying to find new Gods because everyone believes the “old” Gods have left the world. The seekers are working with the dragon highlords (comanders of the dark army that ride upon dragons)who are preparing to attack and take over the land of Ansalon. The Seekers are searching for a blue crystal staff and,Goldmoon (a plains-woman in the same pub as the companions) accidentally heals a Seeker with her staff, the Companions come to her aid when the seeker accuses goldmoon of blasphemy and are confronted by High lord forces and they have to leave the city. The next day and many miles away the group encounters Draconians, reptilian creatures serving as footsoldiers in Highlords' army and are attacked. The Companions are driven into the woods and are attacked by undead and rescued by a centaur. The group is given a quest to go to the ancient city of Xak Tsaroth, to get the disks of mishakal(one of the anceint gods), that hold the writings of the old Gods.
After flying on the backs of giant winged horses and many small battles with draconian warriors, they find Xak Tsaroth and inside meet creatures called gully dwarves. One dwarf, Bupu, leads them to the lairof Khisanth, who later is killes by the holy power of the blue crystal staff. Goldmoon is thought dead, but later she is at the foot of a statue of Mishakal, who gives Goldmoon true healing powers. The Companions leave with the Disks of Mishakal and Bupu also gives a spellbook to Raistlin. After returning to the village to regroup and finding it filled with draconians , the Companions are captured by the armies and, along with an elf named Gilthanas, the prince of the elven country of Qualinesti, are captured and held in a slave wagon
They are all freed by Gilthanas's brother and a small group of elves. They travel with the elves to Qualinesti where Tanis is met his childhood sweetheart, the exceptionally beautiful elven by princess, Laurana Kanan. Laurana still loves Tanis and wants to marry him, but Tanis tells her he is now in love with Kitiara. The Elven King tells the Companions to lead an attack on the slave mine in Pax Tharkas to free the slaves of the highlord's control. The Companions travel through a passage underground to Pax Tharkas and come up with a plan to free the slaves. Laurana, eager to win Tanis's love back follows the group. When they find she had followed them he lectures her for acting like a spoiled child and she decides to prove that she is much more than that.
The Companions get into Pax Thrakas and Goldmoon heals one of the slaves, Elistan, a dying Seeker, converting him to the ways of the old gods. He is the first healer of the god of good ,Paladine, and Goldmoon gives the Disks of Mishakal to him. The Companions free the slaves, and Laurana proves her worth in the battle by fighting bravely. The Dragon Highlord Verminaard and his red dragon Ember arrive at the revolt but the insane, and senile red dragon Flamestrike kills the highlords dragon while the Companions kill Verminaard. A mysterious figure called The Everman later appears (whitch is strange because tanis and the others witnessed him killed by being crushed by tons of rock) at a wedding celebration for goldmoon and riverwind following the slaves' freeing, but flees after being spotted.

Third Book Review
during the war. A British planefull of evacuating young boys crashed and most of the boys on the plane got out before a large rain storm and the tide drag the wreckege out into the ocean, Two boys Ralph and an boy they call "Piggy", are who we meet first as they explore the island they find a white shell and they use it as a horn to call for other survivors. All of the survivors turn out to be male children, none over the age of thirteen "biguns" (a few older boys) and "littluns" (several younger boys).
Two of the boys want to lead them (Ralph, and another older boy named Jack Merridew), who is the head of a choir group that was among the survivors. After an election, Ralph is voted chief. Ralph tries to get everyone to work toward two goals, the first, being to have fun and second to be rescued by using a fire signal that should never go out, which is lit using Piggy's glasses. For a while, the boys work together building shelters, keeping the fire going, and gathering food and water,. The choirboys then set a goal to be the hunters of the animals on the island.
Jack is a threat to Ralph's leadership, because he is envious of Ralph being chief. Jack tries to gain power by turning his choir group into "hunters", fire keepers. Together, Ralph, Jack, and a boy named Simon become the leaders among the children, going on a short trip to find out if the are on an island or not. Piggy, the most sensible, is outcast by his fellow "biguns" and becomes an unwilling source of mirth for the other children. Simon, leads the construction of shelters, feels he needs to protect the "littluns".
The order imposed by Ralph quickly deteriorates, with little to no work being done by most. Their plans of constructing shelters fails due to their idleness. At one point, Jack has the hunters hunt down a wild pig, even those that maintain the fire. While they are hunting, a ship passes the island, but with no one manning the smoke signal, it passes by. Although the hunt turns out to be the group's first success, Ralph is infuriated when he learns that they missed a rescue. Around the same time, the "littluns" believe the island is home of a monster, referred to as "the beast". After the smoke signal and because of the monster which fills the boys' nightmares, Ralph tells them at a meeting to ignore rumors of a creature. The meeting turns into a riot and Jack gains control of the meeting by promising to slay the beast, challenging Ralph as chief. Later, Ralph wants to release his position, though Piggy discourages him.
In a trip to locate such a beast, Ralph and Jack find a cave in the island which they call "Castle Rock". Ralph and Jack together discover a dead pilot atop the mountain and mistake it to be the sleeping beast. Jack blows the conch to call a meeting, over the course of which he confirms the beast's existence to the others. The meeting results splitting the children into two groups. Ralph's group want to keep the fire going. Jack becomes the chief of his own tribe, focusing on hunting exploiting the belief in the beast. As Jack and the hunters slain their first pig, they gather defectors from Ralph's group to join them with the promise of meat, fun, and, most importantly, protection from the beast.Jack's tribe becomes more animal like, emphasised by applying face paint from clay and charred remains of trees..
Simon goes looking for the beast himselfand finds the head of the pig left there for an offering to the beast. Simon hallucinates that the head I telling him that it is the real beasts and that the boys created the beast because it was inside them all as fear.simon also finds the dead pilot and is the only one to realize that it really is just a dead man and not the4 beast. Simon stumbles into jacks tribes war dance thing and tries to tell them the truth about the beast and the pilot. But jacks tribe attack and kill simon because they mistake him for the beast. When they kill him they chant "Kill the beast! Cut his throat! Spill his blood!".
Jacks tribe raid Ralph's camp and attack all the boys that don't hunt and steal Piggy's glasses for making a fire. Now it is ralph piggy samneric and the liluns left in ralphs tribe they all go to the rock fort that Jack's tribe stays at at Castle Rock to try to get back Piggy's glasses so that he can see again. The boy Roger starts a rock ambush and piggy is hit by a boulder and falls to his death. Samneric are caught and tortured to become part of Jack's tribe. Ralph runs for his life and is all alone.
Ralph is hunted for the whole next day. The signal fire is seen by a warship and a naval officer, comes to the island but the fighting stops, believing them only to be playing a game, unaware of the two murders (of Simon and Piggy) that have occurred and a third that was about to take place.
