According to Robbins (1986), to form individuals' personalities, foundation beliefs and values play an important role. Moreover, according to some theorists, one of the most important and powerful sources is the belief and this powerful source can be influenced by some factors like education, religion, customs and culture. It has also influenced by individual's experiences. There are two types of beliefs and these are positive and negative. Behaviour and performance can be influenced by these beliefs. Performance can be badly affected by negative beliefs and the opposite can be done by positive beliefs. The positive beliefs help to increase self-confidence.
In a study, Kolb cited by Burt (1995) mentioned that past experiences can help to form the future plan and also can help to improve individuals. For personal development I don't analyse only the successes but mostly analyse the failures more and it helps me to manage my effectiveness. David Kolb explained a learning cycle with four related factors which is very effective in experimental learning. According to Kolb, proper analysis and utilization of past experiences helps to reach on personal effectiveness. Lack of success can help to increase experiences. These experiences can play an important role of planning for the next situation and also help to improve the individual.
David A. Kolb with Roger Fry (Mintzberg, 1977) emphasizes effective communication, which can embody knowledge and skills and is helpful for self-development. Team spirit and higher performance are encouraged by good communications. Facts, emotions and needs are the fundamental elements of communication. The brains logic and opinions are the basic of facts. The non-logical and non-rational activities are emotions. Fundamental development needs are logical. Various types of communications help anybody to improve personal development. To improve personal development verbal, non-verbal and the written communications play important role. Tone of voice and body language also listening are the main features of active communication and effective for personal development. By following Kolb's experimental learning, controlling emotions is the key factors for me to take the right decisions at right times.
In my opinion and experiences, theories do not exactly provide a solution for every eventuality. To apply any theory I think fast on my feet. Theory gives me the basis of understanding techniques to apply this to practice more efficiently. Past experiences and achieved skills help me to highlight further areas for training and development.
King and Kitchener (1987) state that, 'the reflective framework models aid anybody to improve some skills, helps to think for future activities, helps anybody in fast and busy situations; reflection helps learning new things accurately, helps to form new concepts and help to realize new ideas'.
At the very beginning of this report I thought that it was very complicated but after sometimes I knew that it was a matter of thinking. Instead of enjoying the report I became resentful because its intrusiveness.

My spending time in the student business conference was too effective that it has made great impact on my skills and learning new things. This first professional improvement conference was an oral presentation in front of all of our students.
The presentation in front of our students was an exciting matter for the first time and taking part in this conference I found that it was direct and very related and straight to the point. Participating in the conference and presenting my work in the personal and professional development seminar my confidence improved a lot to present my works to others and learnt many things new like how body language helps to express emotions and ideas what I could not thought before.
At first time I could not understand many systems related to conference and thought that it was just exercise which may open the charm of the participant and we knew better every one from the conference. One of the presenters emphasizes on the presentation style and about the requirements of presentation which was quite difficult matters. The presenter showed how to present the report, what is the basic structure of the report and also showed the attitudes related to presentation. From this seminar l learnt presentation styles and formats easily which are much needed in the professional life especially in the business sector to describe new products and promotions.
None the less I think that it is a good way to communicate through to other students and lectures if it were used by other students. Collecting data has been essential to the course all the work that I have presented even the report that I'm writing now. The conference is a great way of meeting for me with the professionals. From the student business conference I have learnt the process of data collection and also the way of data presentation which was presented by some professionals. I learnt from the seminar that gathering information from various sources and apply it in exact sector is a vital matter for any professionals. After attaining the conference I have changed my working style in any course report and trying to follow the professional styles. I have not faced any major problems during my learning in the conference. I felt that I was able enough to overcome any unexpected situations and I could learn in faster way. In the seminar some topics related to creativity and communications were discussed which was irrelevant to our course.
