Multistory car park will be prepared which is able to store as many car as possible to prevent any traffic congestion around the medical center. 2 floors should be reserved for staff parking and the rest are prepared for public. Every floor should also have parking slots for the disabled patients. The parking bay is also directly linked to the medical center by the link bridges.
A big LED signage will be installed at the highest floor of the building to display the name and the logo of the medical center. Besides that, there will also other signage at the surrounding of the medical center such as main entrance, and there will also be signboard around the hospital in 4km of radius to ease the visitor to find their way to the medical center without getting lost.
Lighting system for medical center should be systematic so that it provide best field of vision for the people at all the time. Therefore LED bulbs are encouraged to be installed as it is able to generate light in a higher efficiency. Although there are many LED light bulbs being installed, but it is also important to prevent wasting of energy as MediCare is also concerning the environment problem. In order to resolve this issue, the lighting system can be controlled by using computer system to switch off the lights when there is sufficient light source supplied during the day.
Gardens will be introduced around the medical center to make the surrounding a green environment. The species of plants used should follow the guideline of medical center so that it will not cause any allergic and degrade the health condition of patients. Besides that, there is also a rooftop garden. The gardens are not just built to beautify the surrounding, but it also can absorb heat, reducing the effect of 'urban heat island' in Shah Alam.
In order to shrink the carbon footprint in the building, the concrete is reinforced with rebar that is roughly 95% post-consumer recycled steel and steered clear of the harmful chemicals commonly used to improve the workability of the mix so that the building can be constructed in a more 'greener' way.
The construction of the road in the surrounding of the hospital should meet the specific requirement of JKR. Only permitted materials should be used for the construction of the road conformed to BS 1377. Besides that, pavement works shall also conform to with JKR Roadwork Specification "Arahan Teknik (Pavement Design)".
1.7 Site Clearance
It is important to ensure the site clearance to be carried out in a proper manner. During construction, unsuitable or any unwanted materials should be disposed in an systematic way, so that these materials will not cause any unwanted incident to happen and affect the reputation of MediCare, therefore it is important for the project consultant to supervise the disposing process and ensure that every single procedure is going well as planned. Temporary drain system should also be used to reduce any flooding issues.
The planting of trees should be carried out according to the guideline from Dewan Rakyat Shah Alam, landscape department and the approval from the consultant. The trees and shrub used should be approved species and they are in healthy condition.
2.0 Inside the building
2.1 Air conditioning system
Different of temperatures are required for different facilities, it is better to use split air-conditioning system. The air-conditioning system should have efficiency ratio of at least 15. In order to prevent any unwanted particle entering the medical center and affect the health of patient, therefore filtering system should be installed. Temperature control should be well planned depending on different section in the medical center to ensure the daily operation of medical center is always in optimum condition. Maintenance should be carried out frequently to prevent any sudden breakdown of the facilities. And the piping of the system should comply with BS 6003.
2.2 Refrigeration system
2 components are involved in medical refrigeration system, medical refrigerator and medical freezer. Medical refrigerators consist of vaccine refrigerators, blood bank refrigerators, pharmaceutical refrigerator and so on. Medical freezers consist of chest medical freezer, blast medical freezer, and ultralow temperature freezer. These apparatus should always maintain in good condition to ensure proper functioning and efficiency.

2.3 Office equipment
For a proper functioning of hospital, sufficient furniture should be prepared. The furniture should comply with hospital safety regulations to prevent any injury. Quality furniture should be used to provide comfort for the user and best medical service. Besides that, the furniture purchased should also have a long lifespan so that there are lesser maintenece required.

Toilet will be prepared at every floor of the medical center and in order to save the water, the equipment in the toilet will be installed with infrared sensor which will turn off automatically whenever it is not in use. Besides that, to comply with disabled friendly environment, there will also extra toilets provided for the disabled patients.
2.5 Support services
Payer room will be prepared for the Muslims. Besides that, medical center will also prepare facilities for disabled patient such as walkways, toilets, hangers, parking areas, wheelchairs etc. The medical center will have full coverage of Wi-Fi services for the access of internet. Cafeteria will also be prepared for the visitors where the food meets the requirement of Malaysian Food Safety Laws and Regulations. There are also souvenir shop and convenient shop such as 7-eleven provided for the visitor to purchase daily goods for the patients.
2.6 Audio and video security system
In order to ensure that the information is passed to every single person in the hospital clearly; audio system will be installed throughout the medical center. It is very important to ensure that the audio system also will not emit basses which will affect patient's health condition; therefore the audio system used should meet the regulation of the hospital. Recommended models are Philips, Sony, Panasonic and Altec Lancing.
2.7 Fire Alarm system and extinguishers
It is important to have a good fire alarm system and extinguishers around the hospital to prepare for any emergency. Every corner of medical center should be installed with sprinkles, pull station, relay modules, and notification appliances and smoke detector. Dry chemical type of fire extinguishers will be prepared and placed around the medical center that can be reached easily when there is emergency. The extinguishers should be able to put out class E fire. The equipment should meet the BOMBA and Malaysian standards of fire safety requirements, and maintenance should also conduct frequently to ensure these facilities are always in good condition.
Energy saving light bulbs will be used throughout the medical center. The light bulbs should be able to function using as low energy as possible with high efficiency. Besides that, the wards will also be placed near the windows area, with oversize windows, 82% of the lighting is expected to come from the sun during daytime. Recommended models will be GPL G23 plug / G24-1 plug 7000k / 6500K / 5000K / 2800K.
2.9 Doors and windows
Doors in the medical center need to be fire rated according to the guideline of Jabatan Bomba Malaysia, it is also important to purchase the materials that can last longer. For the windows, smart windows are highly recommended as it can reflect extra heat away and allow lesser usage of air-cond. Windows will also be programmed to open and shut automatically.
2.10 Lift and escalators
The lift and escalators will be provide to ease the movement of visitors around the medical center. All the lifts and escalators should also meet the safety regulation of the medical center.
2.11 Plumbing and Sanitary work
Plumbing and water system should be installed by a licensed plumber register with the authority. The materials and fitting for pipes should be approved by the State of Authority.
2.12 Painting and interior work
Painting compounds used for the building should have a very long lifespan to reduce any maintenance work, and good quality paint should be used so that it will not corrode easily due to the extreme weather in Malaysia. Besides that, the paint should also meet the safety requirement of the hospital and it will not emit any harmful chemical which will degrade the health of the patient, highly recommended product will be Nippon.
2.13 Plastering, paving and tilling works
Cement, plaster and paver used should be approved by the authorities. During the construction, water for mixing the cements shall not emit any harmful chemical substances, sea water and brackish water are strictly prohibited
2.14 Structural Steel and Metalwork
All materials shall conform to the relevant Malaysia Standards or equivalent standard and should be approved by consultant. All structural steel shall be Grade 43D of BS 4366. Maximum carbon contents shall be in accordance with BS 4360. All bolts should have high strength friction grip. Welding should be carried out in accordance with BS 1856. Welds shall be inspected by radiographic examination and/or ultrasonic test to ensure that it is in good condition when it is used for construction.
The material of brickwork should be ordinary brick clay. The brick clay should be well processed before being used in the construction. Cement bricks are strictly prohibited, and dimension of the brick used of the construction should follow exactly as stated in the documents during construction to prevent any structural problem from happening.
i) The main electricity energy supply would be supplied from the substation that are mainly builded from Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) for the medical centre with appropriate tariff rates.
ii) Solar powered energy panels will also be used to generate hot water and electricity for the medical centre in order to cut down monthly electricity cost.
iii) Backup power supply will also be prepared in case sudden electricity shut down for important units of the medical centre such as operation room, etc.
4.0 Water Supply
i) The main water supply will be supplied from Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor (SYABAS) with appropriate tariff rates for the whole medical centre.
ii) Water storage tank will be place on the rooftop of the medical centre in order to prepare for sudden water supply failure from SYABAS.
5.0 Safety System and Safety Features
i) Smoke detectors, fire alarms and water spray system will be installed all over the medical centre to ensure patient's safety if the medical centre caught in fire.
ii) A well and safe designed route will be designed for customers to evacuate the medical centre building with ease when emergency evacuation is needed in the medical centre.
iii) Emergency stuff such as fire extinguish hose reels and fire extinguisher will be placed at any easy reached area.
iv) Emergency intercom system will also be place in every single part of the medical centre to ensure interaction between outside and inside can be done if emergency occurs.
v) CCTV devices will be place in every single area so that the security team will be able to monitor the whole medical centre's condition which will ensure the safety of every patients and customer in the medical centre.
6.0 Traffic and Parking Facilities
i) The location of the car park will be picked on the underground of the medical centre and another building just right beside the medical centre.
ii) There will be a road connecting the drop-off area to the car park and from the main entrance of the medical centre. These road is planned to ensure a smooth flow of the traffic in the medical centre, and is user friendly.
iii) Signboard will be place at every junction to ensure all customer knows which direction to go while being inside the medical centre area to prevent traffic jam problem.
iv) The road in the medical centre area is a circular road from the main entrance to the drop-off area and then the parking area and connected back to the exit point.
v) All single road in the medical centre will be a one way roads so that smooth flow of traffic is ensured.
vi) Staff car park and doctor's car park will be separated. To all doctors, car park are reserved to every doctors present in the medical centre, while the staff car park are first come first basis open car park.
