Transportation system is one of the most important phases of the Abu Dhabi 2030 vision that objecting to develop a world-leading transport system which serve residents, visitors and businesses in the most efficient, safe, attractive and environmentally sustainable way. Department of transportation is focusing on reducing the number of private car by attracting citizen to the public transport. Car Sharing is another transportation system that can be implementing in Abu Dhabi to meet its energy and sustainable goals. Car sharing is an existing transportation services that provide mobility similar to personal vehicle ownership where users pay for short-term access to a shared-vehicle fleet on a per-hour and per-mile/kilometer basis. Car sharing had success in reducing the number of private cars, reducing CO2 emissions and providing a sustainable network of transit using semi-owning car services worldwide. Electric vehicle is a car work by electricity rather than normal fuel vehicle and it use electric motors for propulsion. This paper proposed a design of potential electric vehicle car sharing service as a part of transportation system in Abu Dhabi. The paper is organized as; first section, an overview of car sharing system, countries that been used the system, companies that provide the system. The second section, supported policies and regulations. Section three and four; explore challenges and potential solutions. And finally, a proposed scenario design of EV car sharing system in Abu Dhabi.

Several issues are disrupting the development of transportation as, traffic and car crowd, parking spaces, the gap in managing and service provided between the peak and off-peak hours in roads create a new challenge in transportation system. Transportation has sensitive environmental issue of increasing the emissions of carbon dioxide on the air and so GHG. The UAE is listed under the highest per capita carbon emissions in the world. Consequently, the government of Abu Dhabi is working hard to build more clean, reliable and sustainable environment.
The existing transport system is relay on private cars; which is not sustainable and can easily influence the UAEââ‚¬â„¢s natural environment. Thus, Abu Dhabi 2030 vision is focusing on reducing the number of private car by attracting citizen to the public transport. An undergoing credible development and enhancement process is built with three critical pillars to follow; economy, society and culture, and environment. The plan include, increase the proportion of trips by public transport, develop the degree of integration within the transport system, reduce carbon dioxide emissions, reduce traffic noise and improve local air quality, improve safety, particularly for pedestrians, develop a low carbon economy in Abu Dhabi .
At present, only limited options exist to facilitate transit access. To expand towards sustainable and reliable transport system, more demand-responsive mobility services should be developed. An alternative of current fossil fuel car is Eclectic Vehicle (EV), cars that work with electric motor and charged with electricity. EV is environment friendly but not widely accepted on the rang. Car sharing is another exiting alternative which is a transport service that allow individual to access a car as a rental service- without owning it- for a short-term whenever itââ‚¬â„¢s required. Car sharing may fill the gap between public transit and private car; where individuals can have access to a car that serve their daily trips, without the hassles and cost of individual auto ownership . Combining between car sharing service and Electric Vehicle will reduce huge amount of carbon dioxide and accomplish several objectives of Abu Dhabi 2030 vision. Todays, car sharing has initiated a transformation into a professional and profitable business framework, which includes mobility services, in a number of regions throughout US and Europe .
