This essay has been submitted by a student. This is not an example of the work written by our professional essay writers.

The main aim of this assignment to know what is WIRELESS INTERNET, WIRED INTERNET ACCESS, what are the software and hardware needed for the wireless network. And how does it work, besides that, we learn how important is setup and configuration, it is the main part that how to start and connect to the internet and the way system is set up. Apart from this, we have learned the differences between WI-FI and WI-MAX technologies and what kind of impacts these both technologies will generate.

This research very use full for us in future to enlarge the knowledge of Wireless network and also WI-MAX technologies. Wireless network plays an important role on our daily basis to communicate with people easily, doing online task, and etc.

Wireless means is a broadcasting using radio signals to communicate between computers and network devices. Its also referred as wifi or lan network. Its also can send out signals over radio rays as a replacement for wires. Wireless can be divided to few categories such as fix wireless, mobile wireless, portable wireless and IR wireless. Basically we need wireless source in order to connect internet at your own network. In window 7 they are already install wireless networking but for windows vista you have to install windows vista service pack 2 and same goes to windows xp we suggest installing windows xp service pack 3 before setup the wireless network.

Choose a convenient location to start install router such like an open floor space. These do not require being the permanent location of the device. Mostly for wireless routers, its required to re-position the unit after installing it as the cables / signals may not get to all areas needed. At the beginning, its better to select a location somewhere it's easiest to work through with the router and concerning final placement later. Plug in the router's electrical power source, and then turn on the router by pushing the power button. Secondly, Connect Internet modem to the router. Most of the network modems connect through an Ethernet cable however USB connections are flattering progressively more common. The cable plugs into the router jack named WAN or uplink or Internet. After connecting the cable, be sure to power cycle (turn off and turn back on) the modem to make sure the router recognizes it. Later than, connect one computer to the router. Even if the router is a wireless model, connect this first computer to the router through a network cable. Via cable at some stage router installation ensure the maximum dependability of the tools. Once a wireless router installation is done, the computer can be altered over to a wireless connection if preferred.

Open the router's administration tool. From the computer linked to the router, first open Web browser. After that go through the router's address for network admin in the Web address lawn and thump return to reach the routers home page. Most of the routers are reached by any Web address or check with the router's citations to resolve the correct address for the model. Note that, it does not require a working Internet connection for this step. Log in to the router and his router's home page will ask for a username and password. Both are provided in the router's citations. It should alter the router's password for security purposes, but perform this once the installation is complete to keep away from unnecessary complications during the essential setup. If want the router to connect to the Internet, it must enter Internet connection information into that section of the router's configuration (exact location varies). If using DSL Internet, it may need to enter the PPPoE username and password. Similarly, if have been issued a static IP address by the donor (it would need to have requested it), the static IP fields (including network mask and gateway) specified to by the donor must also must be set in the router.

If using a primary computer or an older network router to connect to the Internet, the donor may require updating the MAC up to that time. Understand How to Change a MAC Address for a comprehensive description of this procedure. If this is a wireless router, alter the network name (often called SSID). Whereas the router comes to user with a network name locate at the factory, it will never want to apply this name on the network. Learn How to Change the Router SSID for complete instructions. Make sure the network connection is functioning between your one computer and the router. To do this, must confirm that the computer has received IP address information from the router. See How to Find IP Addresses for a description of this process. (If applicable) make sure the one computer can connect to the Internet accurately. Open Web browser and find out a few Internet sites such as http://compnetworking.about.com/.Connect extra computers to the router as required. If linking wirelessly, make sure the network name (SSID) of each is computer matches that of the router. Lastly, configure extra network protection features as preferred to secure the systems against Internet attackers. These Wi-Fi Home Network Security Tips offer a good checklist to follow

At the end here, this is the closing for this assignment. Our group, really work hard and put a lot of efforts to get the materials and related informations in this research. In this closing we have learned about how setup and configuration take part in wireless, software and hardware needed. Apart from this we learn more about the differences between Wi-Fi and Wi-max and also the wireless and wired internet access. So, we have study and learn various information in wireless network todays world and how does it work in daily basis, especially the impact that Wi-max going to generate.

From that, here we can conclude that coming generation must develop wireless network way well then now. They should enlarge the technologies field much greater and it could build faster, more efficient communications network, at least doubling the speed of existing network and technology. In the future, a network of networks will support a wide variety of nomadic and mobile interoperable devices, innovative services, ICT tools and applications, content formats and delivery modes.

A new generation of telecom infrastructure, network and internet technologies will be used in the coming years as fundamental building blocks, supporting health, environment, government, transport, entertainment and education to name just a few examples. The Future network will provide underlying support for the Future Internet, enabling new business models and a multiplicity of devices, networks, and service providers. Research in network technologies is essential and requires very significant investments for enabling our future networked society, in an evolving world where user's expectations are continuously growing, overloading the existing infrastructure with new applications and services that the network was not initially designed for. While the technology itself develops faster and faster, the deployment and implementation of a new network infrastructure technology can take up to 10 years.
