Some software's used to create multimedia
Adobe Photoshop is very famous image editing/creating software. It enables users to create images, edit and enhance them. The software is capable of doing much more.
Adobe flash is an animating and web scripting software specially designed for web contents. It enables users to create games, interactive learning software's and great animations.
Microsoft power point software is used to create slideshows. With it comes a great variety of animations and effects.
FL Studio is one of the software used to create music. It enables users to create music allowing users to modify, and script a large variety of virtual musical instruments.

Multimedia application development process is almost like any other application development process.
The major stages in a multimedia application development are:
Planning and costing
At first some ideas comes to developers mind and it may be shared with some other developers. Then they group up to make the idea more cumbersome and creative. They plan how the software should work, what is the user experience needed to use it.
Designing and production
At this stage, the developers develop the programs one by one as the task and make the software.
In this phase, the software is run and tested for bugs and to improve performance. Also in this phase they check whether it is performing as planned.
