This assignment is about the four categories of application software that included Custom software, Web based software, Freeware, and Shareware. In this assignment, we will explain how the system software works with application software.
First and foremost, Custom Software is software that performs function specific to a business or industry in other word, it is taylor made software. Example of Custom software are using in banking industry, business industry and Accounting industries. They play important role for each company to solve their specific task.
Web Based Software is program hosted by a web site. Users access and interact with web based software from any computer or devices that is connected to the internet. Example like Web based software is Facebook, Youtube, and Friendster. Web-based software help user easy to search the information.
Freeware is copyrighted software provided at no cost by an individual or a company that keep all rights to the software. Example of freeware such as Msn Messenger and Online game. Freeware give user free to download the software and can share with other person.
Shareware is copyrighted software that is distributed at no cost for a period. Example is Antivirus, video converter. Shareware help user more understanding of the software that there may be a small charge by the user to continue to use it.
2.1 Custom Software
Custom software also known as bespoke software .Custom Software is a type of software that is developed either for a specific organization or function that differs from or is opposite of other already available software. Custom software usually used in companies, business entities and organizations. The companies usually develop custom software to optimize routes of a company and securing information. Besides that, custom software is also specially created to schedule equipment and personnel resources, to copy, send documents and to data entry .This means that smaller companies, charities or even individuals are able to benefit from complex software based on building blocks which are then customized to suit.
