A variation of the multiple-site processing, single-site data approach is known as client-server architecture. Client-server architecture is similar to that of the network file server expect that all database processing is done at the server site, thus reducing network traffic. Although both the network file server and client/server systems perform multiple-site processing, the latter's processing is distributed. Note that the network file server approach requires the database to be located at a single site. In contrast, the client/server architecture is capable of supporting data at multiple sites. The client/server architecture features a user to resources, or a client, and a provider of resources, or a server. Client server architecture developed as a response of file sharing architecture which require tons of bandwidth and also stall or jam the network. In client server architecture the file server always replace by database server. Any user had any queries they answered by Data Base Management Systems (DBMSs). Which particular queries was being asked only that queries are answered, only that file are transfer instead of whole file that slow down network.

The most & primary language for structuring queries are SQL stands for Standard Query Language, RCP stands for Remote Procedure Call. SQL are always using Graphic User Interface (GUI) to request form database. In SQL there are different type of version are available for major vendors from Microsoft, Oracle. RCP (Remote procedure call) set of rules of to request that is used by one program to request data services from another program on another computer in another network. There is no need to get full knowledge of network details in RCP. In RCP they allow different type of application and those applications are accessible from different platform. Client server stubs are created respectively so each client server has a section it needs for remote function it request. The main aim of stub is to when a remote function is required by communication as well as application between both client and server in time of synchronous. With the help of RCP client-server software are easily design and that employs multiple programs distribution over a network.

Client:-

Program or computer that requests and receives service from another program or computer. The device that was not capable to running their own stand alone program but it can happen by remote computer via network. In client server is use internet where user are connect to service which are operating on a remote system through internet protocol. Client is web browser were they connect web servers and retrieve web page display. There are different type of client are available for different purpose. Most of user are use e-mail client to receive their e-mail from internet service provider's mail storage servers. In client another type is online chat are depending on chat protocol most of user are use online chat with their friends and family. User can also play online multiplayer game in the computer that user are called game clients.

Day by day increasingly large numbers of client application are connected to web sites, making the browser a sort of universal client. This avoid to download large number of software on any computer user have to on their application example mail services. In workstation computers and personal computers the different between client server operating system it's only matter of workload in server they contain more operating system components, and also allow immediate login, server are more expensive then client. In client version may be contain more end user software. In client their three different types are available. The three types of client are shown below.

Thin Client.

Fat Client.

Hybrid Client.

Thin Client:-

The thin client is smallest type of client. Thin client are property of central computer. The basic jobs of thin client is depend on graphic display picture provide by application server. The thin client included programming environment like Java, Asp, Ajax, and PHP.

Fat Client:-

In fat client they are performs a large number of data processing operation itself without help of server. The Rich client or Thick client is two different name of Fat client. The fat client is mainly form of personal computers and laptops can operates independently.

Hybrid Client:-

The hybrid client is mixture of above two types of client Fat and Thin. The hybrid client is related to fat client but in hybrid client there is use of server.

Server:-

The server is a combination of hardware and software to provide service to client.

Client/Server System:-

In computer system architecture develop alone with capabilities of hardware use at the time of application. The fastest and simplest of all is Mainframe Architecture in that all process of function and operation with in central computer. With the help of dumb terminal user can interact in central computer to terminate instruction through capturing keystrokes to the central computer and display the result to instruction for user. Such applications are based and relative dispatch large computer power of mainframe central computer.
