This assignment is about Personal development refers to individual and my development and the others group. By extension, personal development may involve programs, tools and methods. At the level of individuals personal development includes goals, plans or actions oriented towards. Any sort of development whether economic, political, biological, organizational or personal requires a framework if one wishes to know whether change has actually occurred. In the case of personal development, an individual often functions as the primary judge of improvement, but validation of objective improvement requires assessment using standard criteria. Personal development frameworks may include goals or benchmarks that define the end-points, strategies or plans for reaching goals, measurement and assessment of progress, levels or stages that define ,.Milestones along a development path, and a feedback system to provide information on changes. "Realising your potential and helping to realise that of others demands highly sensitive and well developed personal management skills" (Mulligan, 1988)
My main goals in undertaking the corporate management in action to develop my managerial effectiveness with a view to enhancing my career prospects and to learn new managerial techniques both from researched text and more directly from the influence of other persons attending the course.
Throughout this assignment, I have sought to explore various theories and methodologies in order to understand why I have become the person, the manager and the leader - that I am today. They have helped me understand the past, the present and what I need to do to get to where I want to be. These have in turn allowed me to draw up a suitable action plan that will help me move towards achieving both my personal and professional goals.
"Self development is a recognition that individuals can learn but are unlikely to be taught, and that the initiative for development often rests with the individual" (Mumford, 1989)
One of the statements within the beliefs checks, "I believe no-one can make me develop myself if I choose not to", of which I agreed with (i.e. ticked), can be expanded/enhanced by a statement by Drucker (1955)
"Development is always self-development. Nothing could be more absurd than for the enterprise to assume responsibilities for the development of a man. The responsibility lies with the individual, his abilities, and his efforts"
I strongly relate to this comment, although my employers have provided me with a firm platform for development, I, myself, without doubt hold the key.
I found wonder to seen syllabus contains course work which I already studied in past. This was an interesting new subject for me. When I started this subject course work, there were many things to learn about the lesson study cycle, the planning, briefing and the evaluation process. Throughout the course of corporate action in management, I have grown personally and professionally as well and learned many valuable things. I have been excellent taught by my professor Mr. Victor Murmwia. I have also developed a strong bond with my colleagues as we developed our group via group dynamics. Learning in group always gives different thoughts us to learn various theories in respected subject. As a group, we were discussed topic and share our ideas with each other. Eventually, some new interesting question raised which helps to understand the mean of discussion matter end of the group discussion we come up with reasonable solution or conclusion. After my class work, I had read some books and gone through internet to fulfil my knowledge."Learning means change of a relatively permanent kind. Learning implies a different internal state, which may result in new behaviours or actions" (Mullins, 1999).
My first chapter was globalisation before my lecturer started about globalisation and its theories. I had a little bit knowledge about the globalisation and then when my lecturers explain me detail about it and its impacts to international trade it was really interested to me to know about more about globalisation. So we have discussed lot about globalisation developments in all over the world. And how fast the technology is growing, and different issues.
After clarity of my lecturer i got the complete knowledge about the globalisation how the globalisation in personal and professional day by day there is new technology is beening useing in the globalisation. And we discussed that because of globalisation; behaviour under different circumstances, moral value, religion believes, languages, festivals, social, dress, food trade, art and music are become cultural issues. To ensure learning is effective people need to understand how they best learn. Birchall & Lyons (1995) suggests:
My second chapter was action in it my lecturer had done case study on different organisation and we have discuss about different problems in the organisation and how we now about the company is good or bad situation so we have done some analysis and we have use different theory. I was interested to learn that business plan as important for the organisation. In that to start any business, organisations needs a realistic business plan. Business plan is an overview of the business which they are going to start. I have learnt from my lecturer that it should provide all the steps of business means how they would develop it, when they are going to start, who would be the suppliers, who would be the customers, why would they target that market, how they would manage the finance. In sort business plan is how to run business with optimize uses of resources, how to achieve corporation objectives of the organisation, and how to minimize threats
EXTERNAL AND INTERNAL ANALYSIS
This chapter was very interested in this we have learnt about different theories and models should apply in any organisation and i had done different internal and external problems of the organisation with different methods and theories with my lectures guidelines and some of the theories and models are
McKinsey's 7S Model: it helps me to understand how each element of organization interrelated with each other. Strategy, Structure, Systems, Skills, Shared values, Staff and Style are inter connected in McKinsey Model. To analyses the organisations and to know the activities of them, this model provides the framework. I found that this model could be useful to analyse organisations from a different angle. I was also very happy to learn this model because I would use it as a consultant when I advise companies on change management issues. (McKinsey 7s model).
With the help of swot we can know the organisation strength, weakness, opportunity and threats.
And now I can find internal and external problems of the company and. I also applied in my personal and professional .
These are external factors in which the organisations are always subjected but do not have control over. However those organisations who learn fast to adapt to the dictates of the external factors tends to do better and remain in business. Those organisations who fail to adopt finds themselves out of business .
5 Force Model:
It help me to understand in organization point of view that where power lies, how we can take advantages of a situation of strength, how to improve a situation of weakness and how we can avoid to take wrong steps through power of supplier, buyer, competitive rivalry, threat of substitution and threat of new entry
VALUE CHAIN ANALYSIS
Through Value Chain Analysis model, I can identified a set of interrelated generic activities common to a wide range of firms. Through this model I understand that the organisations are to be achieved competitive advantage by delivering value to customers. They need to understand how that value is created or lost in terms of the activities undertaken by organisations.
Gibbs Reflective Cycle
This model help me lot now i can able to take action plan in my organisation .if any situation arise in my organisation i can easily handle it first I need to thing and I need to evaluate whether it is good or bad and analysis and make a decision on own.
MODEL OF REFLECTION
There is no right one. It is important to choose the framework that feels most comfortable for me and best assists on my learning from my own experiences. The most important aspect of engaging in reflective writing for work-based learning is that my writing is able to demonstrate a changed conceptual perspective. The process of reflective writing leads to more than just a gain in your knowledge it should also challenge the concepts and theories by which you make sense of knowledge. When you reflect on a situation you do not simply see more, you see differently. This different way of viewing a situation is reflected in statements about a commitment to action. Action is the final stage of reflection (Atkins and Murphy 1994).
In the class room we have study so many case study such as Mark and Spencer, Sainsbury, Asda, British telecommunication and lectures own case study which was helpful to me to solve the solution in the organisation and its help me to check weather how the company is doing .and there strategic and now I can study any case study and can also give the opinion on the different organisation
CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY AND ETHICS
In this topic, I have known more about the social responsibility of Multinational Corporations. I think, Multinational Corporations should participate and try their best to solve social needs of communities. Some of them do charity works like to donate the hospitals, old age homes, orphan houses; through these works they serve society. Also they do some stage shows for sick people. CSR is about responsibility to all stakeholders whereas Ethics is about morally correct behaviour. Ethics vary based on the cultural value system in each country or society. Today many organisations do ethical practice.
BOSTON CONSULTING GROUP MATRIX
This matrix helpful to me to understand the right time of investing in the market, also warns that high growth demands heavy investment for instance to expand capacity or develop brands. There are also some limitations like sometimes Dogs can earn more than Cash Cows, success factor is not depend only on high market share of this BCG matrix. [http://www.valuebasedmanagement.net/methods_bcgmatrix.html]
The Ansoff Growth Matrix is a tool that helps businesses decide their product and market growth strategy. This matrix suggests that a business' attempts to grow depend on whether it markets new or existing products in new or existing markets.
The achievement of my educational and professional qualification likewise
