Business Ethics is division of professional ethics, itself a branch of what is sometimes called role ethics-which includes such fields as parental, political, fraternal, and other special areas concerned with how a sound ethical theory is to be applied to the various distinct areas of human life. Ethics is a controversial branch of philosophy, addressing the questions "how should one act?" or "What standards of conduct guide a good human life?" It is controversial for several reasons, among them the perennial problem of whether human beings are free agents, capable of initiating or causing their own action. If the answer is that they are not, that everything we do is the result of factors that determine what we do and we are simply being moved to behave as we must given these causal factors, then ethics is impossible or must be understood as proclivities or tendencies a healthy person follows but others have somehow been prevented from following. Praise or blame for what we do, then, is misguided-at most they are prompters or encouragements to behave as would be preferable. But no credit or liability could be attached to what we do since, in the last analysis, we as individual agents are not responsible for what we do.

For purposes of understanding business ethics the most crucial issue to be addressed is whether business is itself a profession that can be practiced ethically, morally. Without first addressing fully which ethical theory is sound, we can at least consider whether by reference to commonsense ethics the field of business-or, more generally, commerce-has moral standing.

(Business Ethics in the Global Market, by Tibor R.Machan, 1999, see pg 01)

Business ethics is a relatively new part of the Business, but increasingly the most important thing in a business sector over the world lately and sometimes looks at those places that are extremely new or extremely controversial for the society. As simply say, ethics implies studying how to do the right thing, but it is not definitely as directly as meaning of it. The concept of Ethics generally is to figure out what is right or wrong in the job, and to do what is right, and then looking at the results of products / services and in relationships with stakeholders. Business Ethics bring up to what is wrong or right and bad or good, but many people are against to doing the right thing, it means their view is to assert clear be honest, don't be positioned, and so those people don't capture ethics sincerely. Good business ethics should be part of any successful business.

Ethics pass on level of quality of correct handling. Unluckily, usually not full contract by what represents ethical behavior there. In some way, of course, not much quarrels there. But many practices go down in a gray area, where attitudes could be different by what is ethical and unethical. Here are examples from this gray area: using high-pressure strategy to influence citizens to purchase: confusing consumers into opinion they are receiving a bargain; cheating on expense accounts; exaggerating advertising claims; giving expensive "gifts" to clients or potential clients. As another example, how would you feel about more pollution if it would contribute to full employment in your community? These issues can become complicated and confusing. For example, opening a business on Sundays may be viewed by strict adherents of some religious doctrines as unethical, but it is accepted by most people as a convenience to customers and a desirable and customer-oriented business practice.

Why is business ethics important?

Business ethics is currently a very prominent business topic, and the debates and dilemmas surrounding business ethics have tended to attract an enormous amount of attention from various quarters. For a start, consumers and pressure groups appear to be increasingly demanding that firms should seek out more ethical and ecologically sounder ways of doing business. The media also constantly seems to be keeping the spotlight on corporate abuses and malpractices. And even firms themselves appear to be increasingly recognizing that being ethical may actually be good for business.

Here then are the main reasons why we think that a strong understanding of business ethics is important:

The power and influence of business in society is greater than ever before.

Business malpractices have the potential to inflict enormous harm on individuals, on communities, and on the environment.

The demands being placed on business to be ethical by its various stakeholders are constantly becoming more complex and more challenging.

Business ethics can provide us with the ability to assess the benefits and problems associated with different ways of managing ethics in organizations.

Business ethics can help to improve ethical decision-making by providing managers with the appropriate knowledge and tools that allow them to correctly identify, diagnose, analyse, and provide solutions to the ethical problems and dilemmas they are confronted with. Introduction to Business Profits

The best means to make clear the profit is the gain of any company received in currently time. Simply put it, every business works in order to make profit. Some businesses may have their own purpose but if they do not create income for the business, and it means their business will close up.  There are two kinds of profit named gross profit and net profit. Gross profit is not the real profit in business and it is created by reduced the price of merchandise sold from net sales. And net profit is measured by the real profit saved by a business. Ethics and Profits

Many business people suppose that the additional harshly to provide the meaning of ethical behavior, the additional profits experience. Surely, the quiet sales efforts that might effect from matching down claims or resisting customer hints and even demands (especially in some foreign countries) for bribes or kick-backs may damage profits. So far, a well-built case can also be prepared which suspiciously honest and ethical behavior is a good for business. It is the foundation of our theory which it is desirable to increase believing communication through not only consumers- personnel, suppliers, and the unethical practices of bribery, kickbacks, false claims, and padded expenses may help restore a healthier business environment for an entire industry. (Business Ethics, by Robert F. Hartley, 1993, see pg 5)

Always you read the newspaper that reports about controversies on business ethics and profits. Today, ethics seems less important than making profit.

Here is a question- Is it not possible to make a profit ethically?

Ethics and profit - complementary or opposites

In some countries, ethics comes being the second thing when it comes to doing business successfully. "Successfully" it means generating the large amounts.

There are two ways for creating a base of any successfully business:

1. Going the hard way-advertise, build a brand and image, and market segment you prefer. It requires too much money, effort, and perseverance. (prefer ethics more than profits)

2. Going the easy way - bribe (no ethics and only make profit)

In your opinion, which one you would choose? Of course you would choose the first one-(ethical way). But nowadays the main thing is result which means ("profit"). The general public still determines business ethics more than profit. Every company has the definition for business ethics. Actually the situation in defining the term prevaricates that there is no clear definition about right and wrong. It is true that we have laws to punish aggressions that are necessarily wrong. Unfortunately, those laws do not punish and define what is wrong and right.

In terms of business ethics, the trend now quickly supports the companies which perform from a stakeholder views. As for the theory, is communicating a socially responsible picture compels the last consumers to sustain the company and its products, because of the moral benefit which gives them. To be capable of being sustained, it is an important thing for decision makers that install the standards for business ethics to increase their knowledge behind search the profit. Businessman and Companies, who wish to be successful for long time, must choose sound ethical decision making exercises. Figure out the dissimilarity things among right and wrong and then selecting the right thing is the base for ethical decision making. In the most situations, doing the right thing usually brings to the great financial, social, and personal extra bonus. Business is one of the strongest sectors of the society, because it is controlled by laws although it can be seem like there are a lot of dark things in the business, you must remember that there are things which needs to be done with highest respectability in order to establish their reputation. One importance of ethics in business is that it organizes an honesty and good name with its customers. Certainly nobody would want to be in business with a company or another person who is a fraud. Ethics provide borders that will ensure good practices and opportunities for different industries. Ethics is very important, especially when it comes to dealing with consumers and building relationships with them. (Ethics for International Business, by John M.Kline, 2005, see pg 8)

The importance of ethics in business is more often than not taken for granted because many businesspeople think that there are certain things more important than morals such as generating more profit without any concern for customers. It is so important to look at ethics in a way that it has a very helpful advantage in conducting business. The most successful businesspeople have usually pushed borders in order to achieve their goals but never did they find in themselves to cross it. The feeling of most people is that ethics and profits are common which if a company is doing ethical thing, and it possibly will forget about making profits.

Conclusion

Do business ethics and profits go together?

- Firstly, today as for business world of positional ethics and profits, it is difficult to write these words-business ethics and profits together in the one sentence as a direct mean. In fact, in my opinion, business ethics should go hand in-hand with profits and success. As i am finished to write this statement, I found something that the role of business ethics has increased more than 10 years ago, and the need of business ethics will not be decreased. In addition, we have to obey laws and regulations of business ethics, and companies' policies and instructions. Our behavior is our duty. Finally, do not turn aside regulations, policies, and business ethics even though if you are making the bright of company gain. If a business wants to be successful then ethics and profits should make their standards or the balance.
