Human resource policies are the guidelines management uses in their day-to-day interactions with employees. They represent the commitment of management to a prescribed course of action when problems or questions arise. Managers cannot be expected to know the specifics of every policy and the reasons for their creation. Through the drafting of the policies, management is forced to learn why certain policies are important.
