The aim of this task is to examine the link and impact between management and leadership styles on strategic decisions and also evaluate how leadership styles can be adapted to different situations.
LINK BETWEEN MANAGEMENT AND LEADERSHIP
The concept of management comes from the word "manage", means doing something to achieve something. Management is an art of planning tasks like organising and directing activities in the organisation for its growth. Strategic management defines as making of an organisational plans, assessments, sculpture an organisation in a proper way towards the achievement of the goals and objectives. It cannot be done by predictions or prospects. Strategic management and leadership are correlated with each other, like; to manage something their mangers or their leaders are having some specialty in them to get the results from others.
Management in both large and small organisations predict what they want in the future, where they wants to go in a certain period of time, making a strategy or following a strategy for the best result. Strategic implementation of plans for the goodwill of the organisation. Management always think of the future prospects for an organisation how to get on the top, what is the plan of action? Their positive attitude towards the finances, production cost, raw materials. They have to think some economic and some engineering works to structure the organisation in a proper way. It is also the duty of management to make plans on how to get things according to a systematic way to achieve organizational productivity. It is the duty of the management and leaders to perform and lead the organization from production to marketing and from finance to management.
Leadership is the stylist part in the organisation. An art to influence other in such a way to get the good results by their way of thinking. The word leadership comes from the word "lead". Without a good leader and its charisma no organisation gets their goal on time. Leaders are the persons who takes the responsibility in the organisation to structure it and guide it is such a way towards the achievement of the goals. Leader's makes plans then initiating the plans controlling and supporting by informing time to time and then evaluating that in which way the organisation is moving.
CASE STUDY (Chaudhary Enterprises)
Chaudhary enterprise come into existence in 2000, it is partnership firm registered in Punjab (India). It has in Indian partnership act 1932 under sub section 22. It has also ISO registration no. SL/OO932/000012/8088. That is required for its transportation purposes as it has national transportation registration NO DL/00192/PB/1718. Under partnership act on India the chaudhary enterprises has been the maximum tax paying firm in the north India.
Chaudhary enterprise owns more than ten (10) petrol pumps and 300(three hundred) Lorries, business is situated in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi and Himachal Pradesh. They are the major transporter for the petroleum and diesel products in the north India. They are the contractors for supply of petroleum products in the north India with collaboration of Hindustan petroleum's. As they have most of the filling stations situated on the borders of the states .they get maximum benefits as they have their own Lorries and they achieve their targets.
The organization is consist of 9 managers, for their filling stations, 3 managers, for the transport business, and they have 6 regional managers sitting in different part of the states to handle the organization from where they get their targets from the head office situated in Bathinda, origin in Punjab. To reach their targets, they have to perform different kinds of strategies, like, selling their products to transporters on credit payable in 7 to 15 days and positioning their filling station in the place where it is accessible to everybody. Moreover, coupons are given to loyal customers who spent more than 10,000 rupees and will be drawn twice a year.
The management starts the business with the 1 lorry and no filling station but now with their management and leadership they are the biggest transporter in north India.
1.3.1 IMPACT OF CHAUDHARY ENTERPRISES' MANAGEMENT AND LEADERSHIP STYLES
Through the organizational strategies of Chaudhary, the company continues to grow and lead the market in Punjab in terms of petroleum. The management is clear and determined to achieve their goal to continually increase the revenue and will be leading the petroleum industry form long time. Management in the enterprise is not always hungry behind the profits; yes profits are the essential part of any organisation. But they always keep employs benefits and their improvement as well. When their leaders are implicating their plans they do lots of research work for benefits of their employees.
1.3.2 LEADERSHIP STYLE
The organization is practicing the democratic leadership style. The management always listen to the employees and motivate them to participate in all the activities concerning the promotions and the implementations of various strategies for the benefit of the organization. Their management is working in different style like before assessing any strategy they are asking their employees to suggest and takes some collective ideas from their employee before finalising their strategies. Like they are not making the plans in the office room and forcing the employees to do that, but they keep asking their workers that how we should improve our profits and get the maximum use of resources and time.
While making the final decision or before making the final plan they have to think about the business plan they want to enter. For instance, what are the strategies that will make their business grow more and more, if they were in the line of production before entering a new market they have to consider the long term objectives. In an organisation, there is certain amount of resources which they have to keep in mind and they will carry on with these resources. Hence, finance is the main part of resources that they need to consider always especially if they are going to merge in a joint venture they have to consider the case very carefully.
Management without leadership is a dead body, without effective leadership we cannot get the effective results. It keeps special eye on leadership. Management experts have given a special attention to the study of leadership keeping in view the important role of management.
The organization's management styles and strategies really serve as a guideline for the company to succeed and maintain its productivity.
TASK -2 LEADERSHIP STARTEGY
In strategy management is the process of where an organisation deals with the structure and maintain the priorities of the future. They will act upon some theories for the growth of the business with considering the future aspects and keeping of long term goals in the mind to sustain in the competitive environment, with globalisation impacts as well. There consideration towards the working environment with the new schemes and technology with changing aspects of the business growth, like e-commerce. They should be clear about the vision & mission of the business and should consider about the opportunities and threats of the competitive world. Leadership means proving your organisation strength, removes the weakness, clear on the objectives, making the alternative plans and finally selecting the strategy to work on it.
Leadership is works on theories and I am discussing two theories in my task that how it will work on the different situations and making a proper balance in the organisation or taking the structural view in that shape easy to understand and getting the desired result.
Situational leadership is famously known as the leadership that can be change upon the situation that the managers have to decide to motivate the followers according to the different situations that arise in the organisation, to motivate the team according to the facts and terms but there is chance that they can change the style in the organisation that depends upon the situation arise with time factor and style to need the growth of the organisation. Leaders here to work on the certain factors like external factors, managing the demands, the structure of the group, the culture and the behaviour that are changing accordance to the competitive world.
To motivate the team to work under the changing environment, considering the staff ability to handle the situation that demands the change, availability of the raw material or the demand and supply of the products, ability of the staff correlation with the other groups that is forcing the change. Guiding them or distributing the authorities between the groups to get the work done accordance to their work force capacity. Tannenbaum and Schmidt (1958) identified three forces that led to the leader's action: the forces in the situation, the forces in then follower and also forces in the leader. Maier (1963) noted that leaders not only consider the likelihood of a follower accepting a suggestion, but also the overall importance of getting things done. Thus in critical situations, a leader is more likely to be directive in style simply because of the implications of failure.
In participative leadership the whole team the whole group will included in making the decision, it is a different style of working where everyone contributes or share their ideas either it is the manager, sub-ordinates, peers, superiors, other stake holders. Here everybody related to the organisation share their experience, but it is in the hands of managers that they will follow them or deny them. But this is rationalism approach for the growth of the organisation; at the end what everybody wants their growth, stake holders wants more and more profits, sub-ordinates wants the promotions.
In this type of leadership, people would be collectively fallows the guidelines because they are contributing their ideas as well as their and their work force putting together all this for the growth of the organisation. Participative leadership is the collective ideas of the whole team members about the working style or we can say that the organisation structure to achieve the goals.
Leadership strategy of Lloyd bank
Lloyd bank is mainly concerns with the financial sector, it deals with finance and the mutual fund system in United Kingdom and it is the second largest banking organisation in the financial sector. This holds the main financial sector of the Britain it is a collaborated banking with small and large banks it takes over the small banking system and merging them to make Lloyds tsb bank.
Style they adopt:-
Demonstrating leadership from the top to bottom.
Their vision is based on the United Kingdom's best financial service.
Performance related on the relationship with the clients because it is service oriented business.
Corporate values generated on the top.

Task oriented bank their leadership works on that style mainly focused on the task.
Lloyd bank use authoritative style of leadership that works from the top to bottom and their leaders make their strategy for the whole team and they have their sub-ordinates to work on these policies, this type of leadership style is also known as the autocratic style of leadership. The regulations and the guidelines makes at the top level and each and every individual have to fallow these guidelines to get the maximum growth of the organisation.
Their leader's works on the rules and regulations which their team or the sub-ordinates will have to follow the guidelines. As the theories I discussed above they will not work on the them, they work on the autocratic theory or the different style of leadership theory of transactional where they command is in the hand of the top management and the subordinates have to fallow them as well as they have receive the rewards on achieving the targets, but punishment is also there on certain aspects.
Lloyds banking is working of the different theory and they are getting the success, but if they add the participative theory in their business they will get more and more success. As it is mainly concerns with the service oriented business and the lower staff have to handle the customers, so their sub-ordinates knows very well what their customer wants not the top level management, if they suggest something they also have to consider on that by this they will make a good understanding between the top and lower management.
Banking and financial service mainly concentrate on the customer building team means if they have more and more customers they will get a suitable and best environment to deal with them, so only authoritative concept is not the best thing to do on their should be a chain circle to fallow the needs of the subordinates as well.
Theories are better to understand on book levels or the academic level, but when it is the time to applicable these theories everyone get confused how to use them in proper way it is better that there should be team or group discussion on regularly basis top understand the demands of the organisation from the top (stake holders) to the bottom (sub-ordinates) to work in better environment.
Task 3 PLANNING FOR LEADERSHIP
In this task to analysis on the certain methods of the leadership what are changes that came into force with the change of time and the technology. Leadership can be divided into two parts, one is formal and the second one is informal leadership planning. Both are the time implicated methods style of leadership planning, in the formal way leaders has to analysis or certain path like making a strategy by sitting on the desk, drawing an outline sketch of the organisation dividing them into parts and in the second way leaders implicated those plans into action for getting the results in the organisation.
Today is the world of most the competitive and the challenging facing for the organisations, in this competitive world the leader of the organisation must predict what changes or what culture they have to fallow in the betterment for the organisation. Their leaders must be well planned before the problems have to occur; they have already some strategies in the table of their leaders.
In future everyone is having a dream to achieve something. By developing the skills or by learning skills there is more chance to get your dreams being fulfilled.
Leadership planning is define years ago their leaders must be intelligent that have to be prepared for the upcoming or future problems in advance. That they have to find the ways before the problem arises in the organisation with their intellectual quality and their capacity like.
In this modern world of competition there are requirements that there is need of change in certain things by learning the leadership or change in the style of learning modern leaders have to learn lots of things.
It is a very common word use in the dictionary of the leaders and the managers, but some of them fallow them according to it very sincerely and some of them just ignore them by thinking that this doesn't going to be happens. Who consider it sincerely and make early plans for the threats can keep their organisation in profits even the worst thing happens in the world economy.

It is like the simple and the common leadership but needs some extra skills because it wholly depends upon the e-commerce, the traditional way is just different in that sense that the whole customers are e-customers and depends upon the e-world.
Today is the era of modern times and people have less time for their personal life as they are busy with their personal life that cannot even time to buy food from the market or rest of the house hold activities, so todays modern leaders must have to understand the culture of the e-leadership or e-commerce that technology is playing an very vital role in the modern era of business growth if they have to grow they have to fallow the modern era world and get the maximum profits.
And it is globalised world there is less chance that you will communicate to the staff directly or your sale and purchase data have to be in books, today is the world of the internet. The small thing which is impossible to do earlier is sort out by the internet technology. Know if leaders have to give instructions to their employees sitting in India and the leader was sitting in America, they can use the webcam and in the same way India staff have to submit some reports they don't have to make hard copy and then mail that it is time wasting as well as money wasting procedure, know they can just use of internet send it through e-mail.

Today eras known as the technology era and if there is growth everyone deserves they have to be fully qualified and each and every category.
Today is world of expansion not my mergers and take-overs but by expanding the business out the boundaries of one country to another to the expansion for the business. To understand the different cultures, different working environments and meeting the new challenges for the organisation. This is better to understand that to removing the barriers between the two or more nations there are lots of problems which the organisations have to face, but still every big organisation wants to expand their business for finding of new customer's for finding the new markets for the existing products and for new technologies as well.
Leaders have to think the expansion of the organisation but without a limit and this concept of globalisation came into existence, know the time is that their boundaries are not ending but their business is on the high profit side, what else the stake holders and the people who invest and trust on them wants.
As a manager there is no limitation of growth know at this modern world, it is totally depends upon your thinking that where you wants to go in future know companies are offering you a job internationally, so everyone has to be ready for these types of opportunities if they gone receive that.
Effects of leadership
Leadership plays a vital role as I discussed earlier leaders play the back bone of any organisations structure and their culture as well. If any organisation is having the good leaders their chance of loss is minimum. Leaders are the main person in the growth or the decline of any type of organisation, their style of thinking is much more affects the organisational structure to understand the future prospects as well as the learning outcomes for the organisation.
For an organisation it depends upon their leaders how positive approach they have to determine the objectives and goals of an organisation, it is all depends upon their thinking in what way they wants their organisation to move forward, as I discuss earlier the concepts and the targets which they have to think forward because in this competitive and challenging world, sometimes they also have to think beyond their limits to get the targets and goals for the organisation. It all depends upon the strategy and rules they wants that everyone has to fallow either their group discussion or either they make the plans for the organisation.
The main concept of leaders is to build the environment as well the culture which is easily understandable by the staff and that was in the favour of the organisations benefits. They make such type of plans that everyone has to fallow not by force but by their will and feel comfortable under these plans these are not forcefully applicable but these are the concepts easy to understand and easy to approachable by the team and by the organisation.
Development of leadership skills
It is all in the hands of the leaders that where they wants to keep their organisation in the future prospects, if u read that you will clearly understand the development policy which the leaders wants to take:-
Leaders must be clarifying about the priorities and the goals of the organisation.
They have to fallow the system of rewards, punishments and the reorganisation in the organisation.
Are the leaders are totally the main commandants of the organisations means to say that are they have the full power in the organisation.
What if they have made the wrong policy or what if they also make the wrong decision that will harm the organisation in the future aspects?
What is the level of competency of the leaders or how much they are competatetive for the others in achieving the targets?
Organisational structure is totally depends upon their leaders and their management styles based on certain values such as attributes, skills and actions as well as their priorities towards their leadership styles.
Reading the generals and group discussion will improve your style or we can say that to touch with the world start reading about the things, which you cannot imagine in past.
Methods of leadership skills
For development of these skills we have to understand some paths which the leaders always consider in their minds:-
It is the necessary part if someone has to work for a whole life the same job again and again or doing the same responsibility again than their enthusiasm towards their job will finish one day and this will harm the organisation in the way of absenteeism or loss of the employee, so it is always in the minds of the leaders that they can make job rotation not regularly but some times.
Creating the learning climate
Everyone is not suitable of every kind of job or skilled in the their job so there should be some sort of training and development programme on certain aspects like it is not the part of training, creating those types of environment at the place that they can learn about the different skills and their knowledge will increase and their efficiency towards work will improve
It is the most common theory and the part of leadership that they have to always encourage their employs, money is always not the big factor but rewards and bonus is also and some sort of encouragement schemes also be there to motivate the employs.
Success is not always granted but it all depends upon the leaders that how they utilise their skills and there theories to achieve the targets and the goals for the organisation, sometimes leaders also may be wrong on their path but they need to check and specify again so that if there is some sort of mistake they can rectify that mistake on time. Their values clearly towards the stake holders, employers, employees, investor's vendors and the surrounding community.
For the success of any organisation there is some DeWine force and in the same way in every organisation there is successful leader who will guide the organisation on time to time to achieve the targets, which can force them to achieve the goals, make strategies in that way that can be easily approvable and understandable by everyone to get the success.
