According to Nonaka and Takeuchi KM cycle, it describes the process transformation of tacit knowledge into explicit knowledge through 4 steps that are Socialization, externalization, combination and internalization. This helps all information and knowledge transfer to all staffs, so they can improve, develop and create their knowledge more. To solve this problem, KTM redraw the codified knowledge from Japanese into Chinese and sent to TVC, then TVC mark some corrections or necessary in the drawings and sent back to KTM to make the technical reasoning became clearly to TVC and KTM staffs became knowledgeable about the main design factors influencing costs. And TFCA required all the document is rewrite into English.

Centralized, hierarchical structure for multinationals

With this structure, the corporation focuses primarily on develop the advantages of home country where multinational originates. Business units are controlled in a top-down by the corporate centre. Therefore, it limits creativity and hinders the process of knowledge-sharing between business units.

Decentralized network structure for multinationals

This structure is considered more efficient when it maximizes the process two-way knowledge-sharing between centers and business units together in order to help stimulate innovation in the whole group. The branch receives the knowledge from home country, and then processing it by creative way to appropriate with the country where they are locate.

So, group should be combined between Structural holes and network settings follow decentralized structure to optimal creativity, building knowledge of staffs and facilitate for the process knowledge-sharing between business units and home country.


Developing business from local to global is very important for any company because it is a new way for company to develop and have more chances as well as challenges.
