These were seeming fairness of organizational policy, money, working conditions, relationship with managers, and relationship with co-workers. The other set of factors are those which if present, serve to motivate the individual to enhanced effort and performance. These "Motivators" include achievement, recognition the work itself and responsibility, these factors relate to job condition of the work itself. This theory challenged the dominant theoretical assumptions prevailing at the time that job satisfaction and dissatisfaction could be presented on a continuum, at the Midpoint of which, an individual would experience a neutral state been neither satisfied or dissatisfied, Nigel Basset et al(2005).
Mc Gregor's Theory "X" and "Y"
Douglas McGregor Introduced theory X and Y in his book the Human Side of enterprise, (1960).
