Examining The Knowledge Of Computer Systems Information Technology Essay

The computer offers real opportunities of individualization of training. He is not only a means of communication (transmission) of information, but can provide learning programs adapted to the behavior and knowledge of the student.

Achieving a methodology to make effective the assisting of learning process with the computer has required using the psycho-pedagogy instruments.

The concept of “assisting the educational process with the computer” includes:

teaching some communication courses of new knowledge;

application, consolidation, systematization of new knowledge;

automated verification of a course or of a group of courses;

automated verification of an academic discipline or of a particular program

Computer assisted training (IAC) is a didactic method that capitalizes the principles of modeling and cybernetic analysis of the training activity in the context of new informatics and communication technologies. The work provides an overview of the students on what happens in the informational accounting system of the modern enterprise, on using the informatics products in the accounting domain and on the capitalization of the systems and informatics’ products.

For this we chose to develop more both the principal modules of the WinMENTOR program, and the secondary ones (one of them being the development stage), making a study of 32 economic entities, to find the satisfaction level of each entity in part concerning the informatics’ product. Regarding the composition of WinMENTOR program, we found that it has evolved and expanded more and more lately, it constituting a positive aspect for both users of the program, and the holders of this program.

Computerization can occur in all the accounting works in different ways, leading to shortening the accounting cycle. It is known that elaborating the drawing sheet+ and other documents of synthesis, which are the main sources of information of the different categories of users, can take 3-4 months after closing the calendar year. This deficiency can be largely eliminated by the integrating the accounting within a informatics system, in real time, based on conditioning of „online type” and renouncing at the conditionings of „batch” type. WinMENTOR can keep records for an unlimited number of companies. For each company in part it can be configured the way of caring out the accountancy records, so that they comply with its specific activity.

WinMENTOR ensure the possibility of introducing the accounts plan specific to each type of company. With these adjustments we can use analytical on an unlimited number of levels. The program calculates automatically the coefficient of price differences at materials, closes automatically the income and expenditure counts, the VAT counts.

For the joint venture companies, the program provides the percentage distribution of income and expenditure. Since the accounting records are made automatically, the program composes and their explanations, detailed according to the user’s choice. The accountancy entries made automatically by program can be completed, eventually, with various accounting notes (ex: for formation expenses, profit sharing, and tax on dividends). It is possible and obtaining of a cumulative balance for the companies within a group.

WinMENTOR varations

The “Standard” variant of the WinMENTOR package offers the possibility of highlighting the stocks both value and quantitative. To have the access to all facilities that WinMENTOR can provide, is recommended the “extended” variant.

Excepting the accountancy evidence (presented in the both WinMENTOR variants), the global-value evidence and of that quantitative-value (in “Standard” variant), the “extended” variant gives access at: generation of new reports “(with automatic integration in the menu of lists), managerial reports in foreign currency and increases of delay, orders from clients, internal orders of fabrication, specific consumptions, automatic discounts on billing, limiting the sales based on credits granted to clients, the evidence of stocks with series, expiration terms, quality certificates, sharing the articles from the stock, partners, administration on characterization classes, differentiation of the articles from stocks after specific attributes, billing the subscriptions, reporting the debts to the state budget, the access at the budget module and objective projects, graphics, etc

Involving the personal computers to assisting the educational process is reflected in the specialty literature under acronyms such as IAC (Computer Assisted Instruction), CAI (Computer Assisted Instruction), CAL (Computer Assisted Learning), CBT (Computer Based Training), CBL (Computer Based Learning), ILT (Instructor-Led Training). The Computer Assisted Instruction is a didactic method or an educational method that leverages the principles of modeling and cybernetic analysis of the activity of training in the context of new informatics’ and of communications technologies, characteristics of the contemporary society.

Using the computer in the education process is becoming increasingly important (even essential) for two reasons:

there is having place a computerization of society;

the averages of instruction based on informatics’ provides a strong educational potential

Case study concerning the assessment of the informatics product in MENTOR base

The case study concerning the assessment of the informatics products for accounting and administration was developed by making a sample of presentation of the degree of satisfaction of the users concerning the informatics product in MENTOR base. For this, we randomly selected a total of 32 companies using WinMENTOR, at which we did a assessment grille of the informatics product.This study was made on a period of 7 months (respectively October 2007 – April 2008) on all the offered modules by this program.The assessment grille was completed by providing notes fro each module separately on months.

From the analysis made to the 32 companies’ participant at this study made by us, results that, the informatics product analyzed is rated favorably on the Romanian market at percentage of 90.27%.

Having in view that our assessment grille points the informatics products with 100 for very god satisfaction, with 70 for good, with 40 for satisfying; a percentage of 90.27% indicates a fairly high degree of appreciation of the user, approaching to the 100%. This situation determines placing the software package WinMENTOR in the top of the classification of the informatics product for accountancy and administration, making abstraction from the programs made by companies in their effort concerning the accountancy evidence by specialists

If we make a ranking per modules, on the first place would be placed the Expert module with a percentage of 98.57%;

To summarize this conclusion results a clear and constant trend of evolution concerning:

Cash register had a satisfactory development which led to the idea that this module was poorly appreciated by users;

DOC-IMP-SERVER also and this module was considered weak by the users having a evolution almost constant in each month;

Expert was, throughout the study the most well appreciated by the users with a percentage of 100%, exception making the January and February when it obtained only 95%.

In addition to this study which consisted in completing the assessment grille, we asked and some pros and cons of the product – program WinMENTOR namely:

Pros Arguments:

working interface of the software package for administration and accounting is friendly and particular;

after saving it can be viewed the previously completed articles;

doesn’t allow introducing data entry errors;

is a complete program

Con Argument:

The only thing that hasn’t yet been made by WinMENTOR is that of automatically save of the data in the case in which the current will be interrupted. The group of specific users of the product WinMENTOR is very numerous. Enters in the category of users the personnel dealing with the evidence operative-accounting (managers, cashiers, heads of work teams, gauger, Sector economists, etc), the personnel involved in the accounting evidence at synthetic and analytical level, the managers from different levels, specialists in managing the form. At all this users is added the education users from educational institutions of state and private.

CONCLUSIONS

Following this study we can conclude that there are positive aspects (working interface of the software package for administration and accounting is friendly and particular; after saving if can be viewed the previous completed articles, doesn’t allow introducing of data entry errors. Is a complete program), but and negative (automatic data saving) of the Win MENTOR program. It must be specified that per-whole the respective program has been considered favorably, achieving an average of 90.27 points out of 100 possible. In conclusion, WinMENTOR – product – program for accounting and administration can be used with success and fully satisfactory by any small and medium company whatever would be the object of activity of it.

The students will know thus the advantages of using computer simulation activities: increasing the motivation, transfer of knowledge through teaching; effective learning; control over multiple variables; dynamic presentations; the control over time, the basic structure of the simulations.

The systematic and methodical training process is advantageous because: supports the instruction centered on learning; maintains an effective and attracting training; sustain the communication and collaboration between designers, teachers, applied computer specialists (computer networks) and users; facilitates the diffusion and dissemination of pedagogical knowledge by the professional educators; provides practical solution, possible and acceptable for the training problems; the analysis stage also supports the further development of other educational materials; ensures that what is taught is necessary to achieve the learning objectives of the students; facilitates affair anc accurate assessment of the training process.

The computer-assisted instruction is a important method of teaching-learning, as well as and of assessment of the students activities, with high formative-educative valences developing their thinking capacities, of imagination, of operationalization the theoretical knowledge in different practiced contexts, of learning the rules of activity and living in a group of their job satisfaction, etc.

This is a method of training, in which the student learns in self rhythm, the educational material is divided into small sequences of study, followed by questionnaires, the instructed and instructor being able to immediately observe the evolution of the training process.

The Informatics’ Systems of Training believes that the teaching/learning process is an activity that takes place within the learners. In this sense in the future is necessary to be studied and resolved several key elements of designing these training systems:

Functional principles and methods for teaching structure and presenting the courses

Correcting the errors made by student and ensuring the feedback on the student;

Creating a system of assessment and grading;

Development of a system of self-control and self-assessment to increase the student’s motivation

If the first achievements in the computer-assisted instruction focused more on learning through knowledge verification, then began to appear complex software, which encourages the active construction of the knowledge, provides meaningful contexts for learning, promotes reflection, frees the student of many routine activities and stimulates the intellectual activity similar to the made by adults in the work process. All these elements change the area of teacher’s activities both quantitatively and qualitatively
