Promotion of Equality and Diversity in Education

The personal SWOT analysis and learning process help me to gain new point of view which improved understand of learning and cause me recognize and improve my own learning process. This vision is really important to compass realizing how company sees me. One of the key points to need to be developed that makes the effort to connect on a personal level with around me.

Working as a PR specialist public that I must show creativity, initiative, good judgment and have the ability to communicate thoughts clearly and simply. Decision-making, problem-solving and research skills also are important. I believe developing my reflector style of working would be helpful. Peter Honey and Alan Mumford (2006) indicate that “reflectors like to think about things in detail before taking action. They take a thoughtful approach. They are good listeners and prefer to adopt a low profile. They are prepared to read and re-read and will welcome the opportunity to repeat a piece of learning”. By improving my reflector style I will be happier to engage in thorough preparation prior to decision making/problem solving, I can prepared to set time aside to mull over experiences and clarify lessons learned and think through what to do better or differently. I will be more patient with researching a topic, gathering relevant data and generally checking things out and more respectful of other people's experiences and a better listener. My score shows that this point should be improved. How I can strengthen my reflector style. The first step is to decide what aspects I would like to develop than I planned some actions that will give me practice in improving reflector style. For all actions are short of time to plan or think, I prefer to move quickly from one activity to another, being patient for action. I did my targets break them down into smaller, more feasible steps. I tried to observe people's behavior. I kept records about who does the most talking, who interrupts whom and kept a diary and each evening write an account of what happened during the day and I could reach useful conclusions from them reflect on the day's events. I made a list lessons learned from this activity. I gave myself something to research, something that requires the painstaking gathering of data from different sources. I went to local library and spend a few hours in the reference section.

Another key point is important to have a strategic linking plan that will able me to improve leadership skills in the work place. I have not enough experience management skills, I want to become a more effective manager. I will research the way how to be effective manager for the people I manage.

I feel that I cannot use my time effectively because I am going to monitor it. This is supporting by the results from the workshop in which Time Management questioner. I want to be a good time manager. It needs to develop my own time personal action plan.

STRENGTHS

Adaptability, hard-working, self motivated, self discipline, confident, good team player, good contacts, high level of energy, ability to work under pleasure, well educated. I look for new experiences and jumps in at the deep.

WEAKNESSESS

Lack of work research skills, leader ship skills, weak of job-hunting skills, creativity, make a decision and time management, often take unnecessary risks.

OPPORTUNITIES

Quick learner, have in the field by enhancing my education, professional development in Human Resources.

THREATS

My visa restricts jobs, lack of the advanced education, not be native English speaker.

According to the Maslow’s Needs Pyramid, it shows that my goals are included Esteem Needs. Internal esteem needs are related to self-esteem such as self respect and achievement. I will develop my leadership skills by learns about and cultivates the qualities of a good leader and knows when to exercise leadership. Share leadership with others or allow others to take the leadership role. Exercises leadership as a member of other teams or units within the organization and acknowledges the contribution of all members of the team.

Learning style:

The Swot diagram gives me a chance to control my strengths, threats and focus on better articulating my performance characteristics. SWOT helps in understanding the career aspirations of an individual and assessing how far I am willing to reach my career planning. Using SWOT for the improving my skills help to understand learning opportunities.

Peter Honey and Alan Mumford (2006) have identified four main learning styles. It indicates to learning type by getting a score 13 of on the learning style score for an Activist. “Activist likes to take direct action. They are enthusiastic and welcome new challenges and experiences. They are less interested in what has happened in the past or in putting things into a broader context. They are primarily interested in the here and now. They like to have a go, try things out ad participate. They like to be the centre of attention. So, in summary, Activists like: to think on their feet, to have short sessions, plenty of variety, the opportunity to initiate, to participate and have fun”.

Listening to advice from others will play an important part as it helps to get an outside point of view. It could save me from making decisions which may not be in the best interest of my business, as well as allowing me to use the advice I have been given to improve on any problems I may have or ways to bring more customers. If I were to stick to my own ideas all the time then and follow them through I could end up with a big loss if something goes wrong.

This is a quality I will not want to have at all as starting up a business is always difficult and requires a lot of time and effort. If I wish for my business to be successful and grow then I must continue working hard even when at times I feel it is too much. The only way to avoid such a negative quality would be to really think if this is what I want to do then going after it to the best of my abilities.

Time Management:

I have found out a pleasant and quiet place to study. I have decided to study in the morning because my brain is working better and my understanding is also better at that time. I usually prefer to study alone so that I will be able to concentrate on my work however I like to work with other students in the lecture because they will help me with my learning.

I have decided set time schedules for myself and use a year planner to mark all my course deadline dates for the semester, this will allow me to plan time for my work and relaxation. In addition, I will share out my own personal set assignment deadlines and tasks into the spaces. This will give me time to work on assignments throughout the term and helps me to follow and to do work on time.

I learn by making mistakes, getting feedback from others and making reasoned judgments about my own strengths and weaknesses, this helps me to target my development.

I have self confident when I work and learn new skills, I become more assertive and independent, yet am happy to take responsibility for my own actions and beliefs. Moreover I am willing and able to take responsibility for myself and my learning. I am confident in my own abilities, planning and time management. I have a strong working ethnic, self-discipline, ability to work under pressure, creativity and optimism. I am capable of working and interacting sympathetically with others and confident to give and accept criticism, using this in a positive manner to further build on my skills.

I will like to improve in my written and spoken skills. I can do this by taking part in sports activities and get to meet new people and also gain work experience and participating in various discussions and English language modules. This will help me to improve my communication and English skills. I can improve my written language by writing a lot of essays, learning new words every day and reviewing English grammar once a week.

I can also look for more journals and articles to improve my English vocabulary and using a variety of written style, it will also improve my presentation skills. I sometimes do not like presentations because it makes me anxious, nervous and embarrassed. I was not satisfied with my presentation but I learnt a good lesson, ideas and experiences of how I could improve my skills in future presentations and how I can do much better.

After considering my calculation think that I am spending my valuable time on the right way. I think I am a good time keeper but some times I waste a little bit of time in some unnecessary reasons. As professionals I think every one should have awareness about their duty with the time. They should think about their doings. Everything can be productive for life if time can be utilized properly. Most probably I assume that I have a control on time although sometimes spend a small quantity of time without regarding any purpose.

Good ‘Time Management’ is an essential quality for anyone who needs to work efficiently and effectively in an everyday working environment. It is essential if you are to achieve the organizations objectives and indeed the individual’s personal objectives. There are many techniques which, when combined, give an individual (or team) the skills required to ‘time manage’ the task effectively. In a nutshell, time management is all about making the most efficient and effective use of your time. I am not too much competent in presentation skills. Now a day after my attendance in the advanced professional class I am now able to represent many things easily. My honorable and respectable teacher has helped me to improve my personal presentation skills.
