Semantic Web Framework
Abstract
The word Semantic stands for the "meaning of ". Therefore the Semantic Web is a web that present information in a way that computer can understand meaning of. Semantic Web is the extension of the current World Wide Web and is a huge web which comprises of a number of applications, such as Knowledge Portals and E-Marketplaces; require the management of large volumes of metadata, i.e., information describing the available Web content and services. Better knowledge about their meaning, usage, accessibility or quality will considerably facilitate an automated processing of
Web resources
. The Resource Description Framework (RDF) is a framework which enables the creation and exchange of metadata as normal Web data. RDF provides a framework for representing metadata about the web resources in the semantic web. Semantic Web is a web of future. The RDF is a language for representing information about the resources in the World- Wide Web. When these resources are queried the problem of duplicate records is occurred. Our research focused on eliminating these duplicate records. An algorithm has been represented. The results are quite satisfactory. Research can be carried for pertaining the records those are partially matched as they are being removed in my work. Duplication removal from the semantic web is a very important issue for the information retrieval systems. A number of hashing and heuristic approaches are used for this purpose. I have extended the work already done for querying RDF data using SQL, by embedding a hashing algorithm to remove duplicates from the semantic web when the RDF data or metadata about the web in form of the web pages is queried.
