Administrative management refers to the management of the human resource in the company. Administrative management basically focuses on how a business should be organized and the practices an effective manager should follow. This includes the work force, the managerial staff and all other people working in the organization. Thus taking care of the human resource in terms of the followings is the primary task of an administrative management.

Fixing Payroll.

Disbursing pay on time.

Recruitment of employees for the company.

Upgrading the skills and education of the employees working in the company.

Communicating the employees with the company policies and procedures and delivering the messages from the higher authorities to the required person on time.

Keeping record of finance and its disbursal on time.

Employee grading and role evaluation on frequent basis.

Measuring the performance of the employees and responding them accordingly.

The entire above mentioned are some of the administrative management tasks that have to be taken care of by the Administrative manager in the company. The three administrative services discussed are as follows.

Overview of BAPCO or the Bahrain Petroleum Company ltd:

BAPCO is a completely owned government enterprise. The company is engaged in all production and services related to oil. These include the followings.

Oil exploration.

Oil drilling.

Oil production.

Oil refinery.

Oil distribution. Etc.

Thus finally distribution of the end products like petrol, natural gas etc through its various channels of distribution is done in BAPCO. The company not only sells its products in the country but even outside the country. The capacity of the company is 250,000 barrels per day. The export is made to Middle East, India, South Asia and Africa. Actually 95% of its output is exported.

Task 2:

Procedures and policies in BAPCO:

A number of administrative management reforms take place in BAPCO. Among them the three noteworthy are as follows:

Performance appraisal of the employees.

In BAPCO, the employees are recruited by the Human Resource Manager who is responsible to look after the requirement of the human resource in the company. Thus HR of the company decides on the requirement of the employee at which stage or department and of which caliber to be employed and at what levels of Income. Thus the whole process from early recruitment procedures to taking interview and going through CVs for final decision is all done as per the wishes of the HR manager.

After recruitment, the HR manager role is train and develop the required skills for the job the new person has been selected. The HR manager may add some old employees whom he feels needs to go through training and development programs. Thus through this process the human resource of the company is made ready to start their work in the company.

Performance appraisal on timely basis helps in identifying the star performer of the company. This way the out performers are given promotions and moved to higher job roles and authorities. While the non performers or under performer are again asked to go through the training and development process to improve their skills and education about their job roles and responsibilities.

The planning administration gets the requirement of human resource from various departments of the company. The pay roll needs to be upgraded from time to time.

List of holidays should be made visible on common places of the company.

The cleanliness of the company needs to be taken care as that may invite accidents.

BAPCO is one oil company in the Middle East that not only has achieved maximum satisfaction in the minds and heart of the employees but is also moving swiftly towards the growth and expansion plans that would add more feathers in the cap of the company.

The Administrative services including keeping of employees and retaining them with their full satisfaction levels is a very professional and responsible task. The difficulty may rise at any stage of responsibility. The administration has to work on collective bargain to break the deadlock between the management and the employees.
